Asmodai
That's soooooo strange! I raid the CoS at least 5x a day and that has never happened. I even blew up most of the building myself. But then, I literally blew up the entire area of Diablo's slums(shot out every peice of building that touched the ground and it still stayed up!) and after the mission, their building was still there. dwilkie
Like you, its never happened to me before. My men were on the 2nd floor, when all of a sudden - bang - the floors all collapsed and I was informed my men had all died. Most bizarre. Still, I managed to level every CoS building in the city constantly for a week as revenge... :DGood old hawks
Asmodai
Lvling buildings using aircraft isn't good, although I admit it's incredibly fun. It adds to your city damage, thus you get a cut in funding. I usually only do it once per organization, because it's the fastest way to make them lose cash, but it can cost over 100K in funding. dwilkie
It was a matter of principle... Good news though, I raided them twice in my lunchbreak, didn't lose a man and got 5 cyclones and lots of guns. Made enough to buy a replacement hawk. The CoS worry me though, with their willingness to use explosive and incendiary weapons (particularly heavy laucnhers) within their own building... Still, I now have disruptors and they are COOL
NKF
While everyone's going off on a tangent here, let me toss in something not quite related, but close enough: Does anyone even use the single-file formation mode? I do from time to time, but I find its implementation a little odd, watching soldiers walk and run sporadically between waypoints. You'd think they'd all run like mad when aggresive, but nope. They appear to slow down so that the others can catch up. - NKF
The Veteran
In the Sirius buildings especially I shun the use of formations...I find a room that I know is empty then I shoot out the walls until I can see someone behind them... Nuke the building, kill the bad guys then steal whatever they were carrying. It's the only way to play!
Asmodai
I never even botherpickign anything up. I always blow away wall too, it's quicker than running around doors and gettign ambushed. I get plenty of equip as long as I kill everythgin fast.
Ki-tat Chung
has anyone actually tried to raid the government or the like? what do you get?
Psy Guy
I don't know why but the cult on average has more firepower than x-com (week one they have heavy and mini launchers. Around the time you get distruptors (the small ones) they have the big ones. And when you get Devistators they have shields! I even got and researched shields before the aliens brought them out) The other companies some how get alien tech but usally after get it and have researched it. Cult raids can be fun and easy but the hardest missions involve investigating the cult building for aliens around the time you have disruptors (the aliens are tough and the cult has mad firepower). The only way i can take out the cult and aliens together (without a lot of injuries or shield loss) is to gas the place. (Raid tactic) When the game has reached the point where everyone has 96 firing accuracy and im teched out. The best way to raid a place is to break everyone up into a lot of little groups and block every exit and use about four people to sweep the place drawing out any culties and if they make a run for the exits... well you get the idea . -PSY GUY-
Asmodai
You totally don't raid teh CoS enough. I raided them so much that they never had the cash to get all that equipment. On average I'd raid them 3-4 times a day. They never ever raid me back or ever get equipment. Usually they can only get lawpistols or sniper rifles. They didn't get Disruptor guns untill I'm alomst finished with the game.
psi_morph
For me, choosing safe would let your agents vulnerable to bullets. By the you are hiding and shooting step pattern, your agents would only fire 1 bullet or about the same amount and the chance of hitting are less, while your enemy must have fired a dozen of it already. Eventhough some of them are not highly skilled, at least 10 % of it would hit you.
