Thorondor
It might just be ostensibly French forces, but with German kit? Hmmmm, I see what you mean in the visual front. I just imagined it could prove quite colourful on the narrative side of things (what with Russkies coming across croissant-loving french nazis) if in the right hands. How about a full-on frenchie alternative, then, such as the Battle of Hannut. :: Has plenty of tanks to boot! You playing the French, naturally. Space Voyager
Finally went over the whole mission. Lovely, just great, though the mental image of bloody angels in the snow is not a happy one... Still, better the enemies do them than our own men. Pete
A marvellous read old chap now I've finally caught up. I do win a spell wearing the dunce's hat for only just getting the pun in the title after all this time though. My brain just read Finnish as "those guys from Finland" and completely overlooked the humorous wordplay
FullAuto
How about a full-on frenchie alternative, then, such as the Battle of Hannut. I'll see if I can find something French, even if it's only the French SS chaps. CMBB's scope is limited, tragically, to the Eastern Front, so it's '41' to 45. Other stuff has been done, of course (for instance, this scenario is done with Finnish forces, Finnish equipment, in Finnish terrain, etc but the game's date won't go any earlier than '41. There are early scenarios with Somua, Hotchkiss etc vehicles because the Germans used them, but they might be German formations. Pete, SV, glad you enjoyed it! I do win a spell wearing the dunce's hat for only just getting the pun in the title Oh, Pete.
