talon Posted July 19, 2011 Share Posted July 19, 2011 i was clearing out a terror mission having killed most of the aliens and was down to hunting the last fewwhich can get real annoying Seeing that the tanks weapons only filled the 'right hand' the tank could have a motion detector in its 'left hand' i'm probably not the first person to suggest this its seems like a realistic thing to add to the tank especially when it must have visual sensors audio sensors etc think of the motion scanner from the Halo 2 game as master chief I tend to follow the remote control tank rather than onboard AI and having this could certainly help the operator obviously you would have to researched it but since you can create your own laser tank as well the the hover tanksthe certainly seems realistic in the Xcom world Not sure how hard this would be to actually code into the game but its would be interesting to add to the xcomutil Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
NKF Posted July 19, 2011 Share Posted July 19, 2011 It's not something that can't be done - though would perhaps be quite difficult to implement properly. As a matter of fact, tanks were originally meant to have their own inventories, with a slightly different layout than soldiers for some tanks. I presume this also meant that they were intended to be customisable to some extent by arming them with weapons of you choice and perhaps adding extra utilities like the scanner. For whatever reason, this appears to have been scrapped, and the inventory access was blocked off and the built-in turret weapons the tanks and various terror units use has been set to override the action menu for both hands.
