I have played the game along with the first one a couple of times before, but never completed it. This time i want to try playing a iron man sort of game. So no loading if a misson goes badly or someone steps on a mine and so forth. I always have to take results as they are. I am still playing with the ability to save at any time, so i can go to bed and pick up freeing Arulco when i am rested. It will be interesting to see how far i can get before running out of mercs or cash. note to self dont play this when tired There will be some spoilers in this log, so people there want to explorer Arulco on their own, should not read this before they have played through JA2. It might also not make much sense if you have not playede JA2 . The settings for the game are Difficult level: Experienced, Guns:normal,Sci Fi:on and Save: Anytime. Heros of the revoultion: CODE X killed day 10 fighting a patrol. Haywire killed day 17 fighting in Cambria. The story so far: A small country called Arulco is suffering under the reign of queen Deidranna Reitman, there has seized power by poisoning its king and blaming his heir Enrico Chivaldon. Enrico manages to escape from Arulco, with the help of his political rival Miguel Corbona. Once in power the queen sets about exploiting the land and generally being very nasty. The town Omerta where the resistance has it head quarters have recently been attacked by the queens army and reduced to ruins. Enrico contacts a mercenary and offers a contract to help the people of Arulco get rid of queen Deidranna. Setting up I started by makeing a profile for my custom merc call sign CODE X. I should probably have specialised him more, but at least hes a almost free extra merc to start with. Hes sort of jack of all trades with a marksmanship(70) and leadership(70), as some of his best skills. He has training in autoweapons and electronnics. Now to recruiting. I pick a team four mercs from AIMs katalog. Signing them all on for 2 weeks contracs with their gear. Grunty is a decent shot, and have a bit of mechanical skill as well. Barry is a cheap explosions man and also a dencent shot for not to much cash. Grizzly is very strong, tough and sort of a decent shot as well. MD was chossen as the teams doctor. After all this i am left with a little under 3000 dollars, so i wont be abel to hire any replacements before i get get a steady income from a mine or capture some cash in Arulco. Day 1: landing in Omerta A chopper drops the merc team of in ruins of Omerta, there was the old . I am to meet up with Miguel and deliver him a lettter from my employer. There are four of Deidrannas goons spread out in the ruins, so small gun battle breaks out. None of my team gets hit. After the fight Grizzly pokes anround in some of the ruined houses and finds a crow bar and some canteens. Code X shows the letter from Enrico to a woman there leads the team to see Miguel, the leader of the revoultion or what is left of it. After some talking Miguel asks that the team head to Drassen and contact a father Walker there, so father Walker can organise some food from Drassen to the rebels. On the road towards Drassen the team runs into a patrol of 5 soldiers near a farm. The following fight goes well, with only one of the mercs getting lightly wounded. Gizzly finds some gas in a shed. The team rests up for the comming attack on Drassen. Fight at the Drassen airfield. Grizzely cuts a hole through a fence and the team moves quitely into/behind the houses west of gatehouse. 8 enemies are killede. After the figth Grizzely seaches the airfields buildings, finding a leather jacket for Ira, some ducttape and a extra medic kit for MD. Haveing control of the airport allows me to order goods from the Bobby Rays online gun shop. There is also a helicopter here but i dont have anyone to fly it yet. Ira and Code X trains the military in Dasser,MD does a bit of doctoring on Grunty there was wounded takeing the airfield. The rest of the team pratice their marksmanship. Once the first military soldiers are trained, the whole team goes to rest, so they can ready for the planned night attack on the next sector of Drassen to the south. Day 3 night attack in Drassen. The night attack goes very well and no one the team gets wounded. Mostly because Gruntys night combat training and the enemys poor shooting skills. After the fight the team learns there is a sweat shop in town, exploting child labore. Its run by Doreen, who is also a friend of the queen. The people of Drassen would like her run out of town. The team heads over to the factory to and CODE X, Ira and Gizzly takes turns trying to threathing Doreen to leave, but its no use really she just keep going on about how the work is good for the children and how the queen will see all the mercenarys dead. Grizzly switches to punching her while Ira tries a few more threaths, but Doreen wont take the hint and in the end shes punched to the dead. This turns out to be very populare with the Drassen people, so the citys loyalty towards the revolution soars. Barry searches a locked room in the factory and finds a machine gun and some cash in Doreens stash. The machine gun is handed to Grunty, as hes the teams best marksman. Ira and CODE X starts traning new militia for this sector. Day 4 night attack on the Drassen mine. Since the last night attack whent so well, the mercenarys try another on the most southen part of Drassen there contains most of Drassen city and also has the Drassen mine. This attack also goes very well and again no one gets wounded in the fighting. I am a bit surprise there has be no casuties yet, maybe it is really possibel to capture the whole contry with a handfull of mercenaris. CODE X talks to the head miner there informs him that the miners will be happy to work for the revolution in stead of the queen. The Drassen mine gives a nice income of 7300 dollars each day and its yeild will raise as the town become more loyal towards the revolution. With the new income the team can aforde to expande. I hire some new mercenarys from M.E.R.C, there is a new and upcoming compititor to AIM. Their mercenaries are not very good, but they are cheap and there is no payment up front unlike AIM. Flo and Biff both have teaching skills, so they will be usefull for traning military and not much else besides that. Gasket is a cheap skilled mechanic, but not good for much else. Finaly i hire Haywire who has traning in auto weapons, through he cant hit anything. Ira and CODE X starts traning new militia for this sector as well. Day 5 searching for father Walker The recently hired mercenarys from M.E.R.C. arrive in Omerta. I plan to let them stay there and talk to Miguel once the team in Drassen has found the elusive father walker. Grizzly and CODE X searches through the town without finding the father they also keep watch outside the churce. Grizzly even breaks into the back room of the churce to see if he should be in there. There is no father Walker in there, but Grizzly finds a shotgun and a good amount of cash, he pockets both as a donation towards the cause. CODE X finaly find father Walker, it turns out he spends his evenings drinking in a bar, in the sector north of the mine and not in the bar where CODE X has been tryning to meet him so far. Father Walker promisses to organize a collection of food and get it sendt to Ormerta. CODE X also pour a good amount of alchole on him to see what else he will tell the team, but he dont reveal anything usefull other that hes not a fan of the queen. The team stationed there talks with Miguel and he offers to let another of his men, Dimitri join the mercenaries. Miguel dont have anything else for the mercenaris to do at the moment, so i guess i just concentrate on takeing over more citys. Dimitri is recruited, hes trained in throwing stuff, has a good mechanical skill and are semi compentent with firearms witch make him sort of a star amonge the mercenaries currently at Omerta. It turns out Gasket is not a big fan of Biff, so i will try to keep them in seperate sectores. For now the team stationed at Ormeta set out to Drassen airport. I hope they dont encounter any patrols along the way as mostly a surpport team rather than a fighting one. Day 7 looking for a Chopper pilot The mercenaries from Omerta arrives safely at the Drassen airport. I reform the teams so Flo and Biff will stay at the airport and train mercenaries there. Ira will train mercenaries at the Drassen mine, she gets Hairwire along as a sort of bodyguard. The rest of the mercenaries Gruntry, Grizzly, Barry, CODE X, MD and Gasket set off to look for the missing chopper pilot east of Drassen. The search party has no luck finding the pilot, but they find 6 man strong patrol. The fight takes place in an forest northest of Drassen. Since its both daylight and a open forest with no buildings to hide behind the fight is a long drawn out mess with lots of misses. At the end the mercenaris pull though without any loses, but several of them are wounded. Meanwhile Deidrannas forces launch a counter attack on Drassen town, but they are beaten off by militia stationed there. Day 8 defending Drassen mine Deidrannas forces attack Drassen again. This time they target the mine with a force of 10 soldiers, but there are 20 green military stationed there, so i am not worried. Since Ira and Haywire are in that sectore, i get to see how the military fight for real this time. Oh deari me. Its a big mess with all the military trying to get into gun range of the soldiers and often hitting their own if they are between them and the soldier. one of Deidrannas men, there has a shotgun must have killed 5 military on his own. It seems Deidrannas soldiers are better than the green military. Ira and Haywier moves carefully out from the curche where they had set up base to join the fight. No need to get there before the military. They finaly get into a wineshop right next to fighting and can help out with a few shots, to soften up the soldieres, but the fight is almost over by then. In the end the military has taken 10 casulties. After the fight Ira and Haywire rush out to collect as much loot as possibel from the fall, before the military can get their hands on it.(Not sure if the military picks up anything really). They find good haul of a machinegun, alot of diffent pistols and a extra medikit. The pilot search party are still recovering from yesterdays fight, so they are staying put this day. Day 9 forest fight The search party moves south looking for the missing pilot, but they only find another patrol this time 8 soldiers strong. Its another open forest fight and through the mercenaris come through without any casulties many of them are badly wounded. These soldiers seems stronger, than the ones encounted in Drassen and the mecenaries had a harder time closeing to effective gun range. They find one more machine gun, on one of the slain soldiers it should help a good deal in comming day fights where the range of pistols can be a problem. Since the team is badly wounded they retreat to Drassen airport for rest and patching up. Day 10 a quiet day This is quitet day alle the mercenaries are gathered in Drassen where i shuffel their equipment around. MD and Ira do a bit of doctoring while Gasket fixes up any equipment there have gotten worn. Since alle sectores of Drassen now have some military protection, only Flo and Biff will stay here, to train extra military as needed and mind any deliverys comming by plane. I have slipped Pablo a couple of 100 dollars so hopefully nothing will get lost. Since the last couple of fights have been more long ranged with lots of misses from my side, i am looking to recruit one of the more talented mercenaries from AIM. After a long browse through their cataloug i decide on hireing Sidney. While not one of the top mercenarys hes just below those and he is a very good shot and brings his own machinegun . He is also an expert thrower, that should be usefull with any grenades i find. In the evening the alle mercenaries besides Flo and Biff set out in two teams towards Omerta to meet up with Sidney. Chompot Posted June 30, 2011 Author Share Posted June 30, 2011 Day 11 hard fighting north of Cambria Sidney arrives in Omerta. The rest of the mercenaries meet him there. It turns out, that there is a small problem as Sidney considers Haywire a psycopat and wont to have anything to do with him. For now they have been assigned to two differnt squads. Both squads move south towards Cambria, on the road just north of Cambria they run into some guards and its another long range fight. Sidney proves his worth by quicly rakeing up some kills. After the fight the team recovers a M-14 mini rifle there is handed over to Sidney. MD, CODE X, Grunty, and Haywire are all serious wounded after the fight, so the teams set up camp to pacth everyone up. Luckly i had remembered to move everyone to good denfensive position between some rocks, as a patrol surprises the mercenaris during the night. The soldiers start right next to mercenaris and gets to act first. scoreing only a couple of hits on the mercenaries, some who are now close to dyeing. Sidney buys some time by throwing a mini grenade to knock the attackers down. Dimitri follows up with a break light, so all the mercenaries can see the attackers and quickly take them out. After the fight several of the mercenaries are even more wounded, and looking on the map i can see that several other patrols are close by. Haveing heard that San Mona is a neutral city run by a crimeinal calling himself Kingpin. I decide to rush the mercenaries over there, to take shelter. Day 12 fleight to San Mona The mercenaries arrives safely at the easten part of San Mona and set up camp, to treat the many wounded. I had tought they would be safe here, but it turns the queens soldiers do enter San Mona and the mercenaries are set on by a patrol of 10 soldiers. Sidney kill the first soldier there shows with a head shot, hes fast becomming the star of the team with his high marksmans skill and his dry comment of "pity" every time he kills sosmeone. I had first decided to retreat the mercenaries rahter than risk them in battle, but when the soldiers show they are still far from the exit points, so instead they run for cover behind a big tavern. Only CODE X dont make it to cover and is stuck out in the open. He is killed after exchangeing a few rounds of bust fire with the soldiers. Meanwhile Sidney goes long with his rifle and starts thining out the soldiers, the rest of the mercenaries either take quick shots around the corner of the building or try to outflank them by going the other way around the building. Haywire shows hes psyhco side by useing bust fire rahter than singel shot witch leaves him no time to get back into cover. Luckly hes only serious wounded by the soldiers return fire. In the end the rest of the attackers are all killed without further loses on the mercenaries side, but almost all of them are wounded now. On the good side they do recover another M-14 mini rifle and some much needed medical surplies from the fallen soldiers. After his small episode during the battle Haywires berreta is confiscated and hes issued with a .38 revolver instead. Its a bit of bummer to lose my custorm merc, as the first casulti,but on the other hand he was not as colorfull as the hired mercenaries and he had a really dumb name . Day 13 hideing in San Mona The mercenaries break into a house and set up defensive positions in there in case another enemy patrol should show up. They spend the rest of the day resting and recoverin. A little booz is handed around for fun. I try searching the burial site for any options for fallen mercenaries, but there dont seem to be any. So CODE X is left for the crows along with the queens fallen soldiers. Day 14 sightseeeing in San Mona Once Barry is recovred from his wounds, he takes a quikc tour of San Mona, takeing Ira along as tourguide. Barry has gotten the job to examine new places, as he is good with a lock pick, can handel explosives and also carries a mine detector. They only take a short tour being very carefull to not upset the local goons, as the mercenaries are in no shape for more fighting at the moment. I plan to return to San Mona later to explorer it fully. Barry do find an unguarded warehouse, where he secures some grenades and door charges. They also meet up with a man claiming to be a bounty hunter and recive a list of six wanted terrorists hideing in Arulco. They are told to only bring back the heads and there should be a reward. Since CODE X was the mecenary with the highest leadershipskill i am looking for someone to replace him. I am not sure what effect leadership has other than i helps with traning military, but i am thinking it might help with conversations and maybe keep the moral of a squad up. I decide to hire Raider now and get his wife Raven next, when i have enough money. Raider are an expert teacher and also a good shot. Once all the mercenaries fit again. they move out to fight with another patrol south of Ormerta to clear them out of Raiders path. The fight goes resonabel well with no casulties on the mercenaries side, but Grizzy suffers a seroius wound loseing 14 dexterity. The mercenaries set up camp to heal and rest again. Chompot Posted July 7, 2011 Author Share Posted July 7, 2011 Day 15 moveing south The day is spendt recovering from the last fight, once everyone is fit. The mercenaries move south to just outside Cambria. Here they wait and rest up, for a planned night attack on what, was once the university in Cambria. It has been closed down by the queen and her goons guard the ruined buildings. Day 16 night attack Cambria university The attack starts poorly, when the mercenaries are spotted trying to make it over the wall sourounding the university, and Sidney is wounded. They retreat a bit and find another part of the wall there is not defended. Once inside the wall Gruntys nightfighting skills proves lethal and only a few mercenaries are serious wounded in the fight. After the battel Barry walks a round searching through the ruins, but dont find anything special. Other than a trapped handgrenade witch he leaves alone. There is a man here, there fits the description of one of the terrorist, nameded the the Imposter, but for now the main obejctive is to capture Cambria. So Barry dosn't bother him for now. Ira and Raider trains some military to hold this section of the city. MD and Sidney does a bit of doctoring, while Gasket and Barry fixes up the teams equipment. I have noticed that Sidneys morale seems to be dropping, probably because of Haywirer. So i should probably fire Haywirer soonish, at least before i try to renew Sidneys contract. Day 17 attack on Cambria hospital The mercenaries strike west next, to liberate Cambria hospital. The hospital is made up of one big building there takes up much of area in this sector. There are no enemies in sight when the mercenaries arrive. So some of them takes up positions at the front entrance while others climb on top of the roof. Haywirer sneaks up to a window and keeps watch there. One guard comes out the front entrance and the mecenaries covering it takes him out. Haywirer crouching at a window, spots another soldier in the hospital and shots him with his .38. Causeing almost no damage, in return the soldier quickly turns and shoots Haywirer two times in the head with his rifle dropping him dead. Dimitri haveing reached the back end of the hospital on the roof spots several enemies below at the back entrance. First he tries a knife throw witch hits,but cause only a little damage. Next he ducks up and manages to take out the wounded soldier with his pistol, but when he tries to repeat the trick he is hit several times with interrupt fire and falls unconsious on the roof. Luckely there are several other mecenaries closeing in on the roof and Ira is abel to give Dimitri firstaid, before he loses to much blood. Below at the entrance Raider takes up position so he can shot down a corridor streching through the hospital. That turns into a long range fight with several of Deidrannas soldiers as they appeare. Sidney and Ira enters the hospital from the other end and takes out the last of the soldiers in the corridor. After that the mercenaries sweep through the hospital and finish the lasts soldiers without to much troubel. After the fight Raider talks with the two doctors of the hospital and they hint that they might be abel to help the mercenaries later, once more of the citys population trusts them. There are also a very perky Nurse Jenny who might fit the desciption of one of the terrorists, i am not sure through. Barry searches through the hospital finding lots of goodies including 2 tubes of compound 18, differnt pices of body armor and other usefull stuff. There are also a huge amount of medickits and drugs in a warehouse, but it might upset the doctors if they where to diseappear, so the mercenaries leave them for now. I decide to use the compound 18 on a kelvar vest and a guardian vest thinking, its better to get upgraded armor early to help keep calsulties down. Once the fighting is done Ira and Raider starts training some military to hold this section of the Cambria. The rest do their normaly tasks with MD and Sidney working as doctors. While Gasket and Barry fixes gear. Loseing Haywirer to interrupt fire was a stupid move, as he was all alone and not really capabel to do much with his .38 revolver. Still it solves the problem with Sidney and i can just hear him going "pity" when Haywirer got killed Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
