Alien base: need storage room with power units

the aliens were nice enough to build a muton alien base (i actually could not stop them 6 ufos in a very small space of time),

 

athough supply ships are the primary target i plan to make a few raids, gather experience , weapons and Elerium

 

i wanted to ask what the storage rooms with power units look like, are they the same as the on ufos

What exactly is it you're after talon? I'm not sure I understand what you mean by the title, or by the room. I'd say that the 'storage room' sounds like the 20x20 tile with a 3x3 room in the centre, 8 big 2x2 containers around the outside and a bunch of smaller alien food ones dotted around the place. To my knowledge though there aren't any power units... You get a lot of the corridor rooms with the red and blue alternate power supplies but they don't do anything and aren't researchable.

 

Do you mean you want to find powersupplies in an alien base so you can farm it for elerium? Because if you do then yes they look the same as in UFOs I can only think of one room that has these in though and there's only 2 or 3 of them so you'd be much better off just playing the game normally if that's your goal...

If you're going after the Elerium you're probably better off attacking the supply ships. That guarantees you get 150 each mission provided you don't use high explosives in the engine room and destroy it. With the base raiding you only get that room about half the time, and if you only have 1 of them on the map only 50 elerium is there, if you have 2 on the map, 150 is there, but that's probably a few percent of all missions that would have 2 of them. The advantage though is that you can repeatedly raid it without waiting on the supply ships. If you can get 80 kills a day plus looting all the weapons, it's very good for your soldier stats, monthly score and black market income..
