Playstation, anyone?

Has onyone else got this on the Playstation? I've played it for the for the PC and I now officially hate the PS version, especially the damn damn loading times and the glitches and the slowness when you're at a higher level...

Grr.

And I'm trying to get that damned Ion Armour, but I hear that the only way to get it is to get a live lobster man... which I am not looking forward to...

In fact this is the first time I've actually heard of this lobster man thing. All this time wasted for nothing...

Any thoughts?

I haven't played the PS version.

The loby man you will meet. Bring a lance and a whole lot of ammo and grenades, especially when attacking bases.

There's nothing more depressing then using your whole payload to bring one loby man down... https://www.angelfire.com/games3/jeffy90/images/smilies/confused.gif

I think you need a loby man navigator, wasn't it? https://www.angelfire.com/games3/jeffy90/images/smilies/thinking.gif

Oh, my eyes have burst a blood vessel! I thought I'd long rid myself of the horrors that was my Ochre Monochrome™ monitwar o' Deummah! At least it had those neat knobs and ... (edit: curiously enough, this no longer applies. Yay)

Oh, ion armour. Right. Can't get it by simply researching Ion Beam Accelerators, Plastic Aqua Armour and a live Deep One Terrorist ™? In that order, or at least researching the live Deep One Terrorist last? Very important. Don't ask, I don't know why. It's just so.

You need Magnetic Navigation to get ye awesome three letters 'Mag.' tacked onto the armour. Olde versions of TFTD (i.e., anything prior to the v2 patch) required a Lobsterman Navigator for the Magnetic Navigation. But that's not a requirement for the Ion Armour. (And surprisingly enough Ion Armour is also not a requirement for Mag. Ion Armour in older versions prior to the v2 patch)

Though Lobstermen are important, so you might as well grab a commander and a navigator whenever the whimsy strikes.

So, the PSX version is a version prior to the v2 patch eh? Interesting. Most interesting.

edit: Methinks I was was a bit too tired while posting this last night... The TRTBAG should shed a much saner luminance on the path to obtaining the Ion Armour. :)

That depends. Given that UFO was on the PS, you'd presume the PS TFTD version didn't take long to come out. Thus it might not be patched. Also, mindless idiots that Microprose were, they probably would've forgotten to patch it anyway. https://www.angelfire.com/games3/jeffy90/images/smilies/wink.gif

There is no Tasoth Commander,

Tasoth Commanders do not exist.

Stunning Lobstermen is easier than killing them.

I have the Dos version too: Tasoth commanders are an illegal alien, but they can get spawned in combat (I use the M.C Reader a lot, see). I have found a few.

However, if the game's all updated properly, then they should not appear on the research roster if you accidentally capture one. (kudos to Bladefirelight for this one)

This is a GOOD™ thing.

Lobstermen have always been easy to stun. :)

Bomb Bloke: One case in point: From what I've read so far, the CE TFTD is updated with the tftdv2 patch, but doesn't include the beta geoscape.exe update - even though the update was released by Microprose ages before the CE was put together.
