chiasaur11
Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Furthermore, ow. Still, suppose I can be glad it was just bullets. Plasma would been even messier.
ulairion
The two remaining civvies honoured the departing Skyranger with a golf clap. "Oh, well done." and survey what is left of their once-beautiful city. Classic Terror Mission. Like carpet bombing, only messier. So I get to use the closest thing X-Com has to a flamethrower, I burned half a city to the ground, AND I lived beyond the average rookie life expectancy? Fantastic! FullAuto
So how long before I recover? You should be fighting fit by the end of the month. What's wrong with this picture?https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/X-Com/noeng.pngI took some of the monkeys off making medikits, but forgot to then put them on laser pistols. D'oh. They are now scratching their arses and heads industriously over the blueprints. Last interception of the month, methinks.https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/X-Com/ow.pngEventually shot down over the North Sea. All that technology, and they can't swim. Left to that most ruthless of services, Her Majesty's Coastguard, there were no survivors. Ah, second last. Shot one down over Spain, then went and did and nice quick crash site. Captain Thorondor and Sergeant Space Voyager riding herd over six rookies. This was an easy mission, lost two rookies to sniper fire, toasted a farmhouse with some Sectoids in,https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/X-Com/cr2.pngThorondor saw a Sectoid that woke up after taking an overdose of metal sleeping pills to the facehttps://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/X-Com/cr1.pngand promptly shot it until there was nothing left but goo. Sgt. Strike (not an actual sergeant) and Grossbeer were in on the fun, and survived.https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/X-Com/crend.pngNice little cherry on top to get my monthly score respectable. Thorondor and SV are my two top performers, having both survived two missions. This makes them grizzled vets at this stage. Thor is also the top killer, with eight aliens to his name (he picked up five in this mission, proving himself a dab hand with an autocannon). It's that time of the month!https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/X-Com/janresult.pngYeah, my dead body thanks you for the briefcases of cash. Jesus Christ, small bills? Do you know how much that's going to weigh?

Crazy Photon
Yay, I survived the terror mission! "Looks more like a massive cloud of dandruff." Crazy Photon offers, peering out into the haze. I hope that was not my own dandruff!
Sgt. Strike
Unless I kicked the bucket, you can Call me either Mike, or just Strike, until I make it to the mean, grizzled, state of Sergent. I'm cool with that.
Space Voyager
Thor, we survived TWO missions!!! https://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b348/SpaceVoyager/Smiley/friends.gif FA, phenomenal AAR!!! Thorondor
Thor, we survived TWO missions!!!*hands SV a celebratory guillotined Montecristo* I'm taking a liking to having alien muck on my visage too. No - really - it's growing on me... :: @FA: my dignified position doesn't permit me to roll on the floor laughing like this, so pretend I just chuckled gruffly on inspection of this latest instalment, oh Great Dead One. FullAuto
I might recycle names, the casualty rate is likely to make it necessary. Either that, or I start using names at random from the member list. I may also post your avatars' stats, let you catch a glimpse of your alter ego's capabilities. DragonHawk
Keep track of iterations. It'd be interesting to see if anyone makes it to their tenth incarnation (e.g. DragonHawk the Tenth). Maybe we should start a little pool or something.
ulairion
If you're going to reuse names, I think it would be nice to add a number at the end so those following at home can keep track. "John Rook XXVII steps out of the skyrang... *zap* not again. Ok, John Rook XXVIII, your turn".
Pete
Bring on Pete II already. And make him mean. With a squint and a cigar. And maybe a cowboy hat at a slight angle. Sod it, call him Clint and leave it at that.

FullAuto
Did a lovely little crash site, didn't lose anyone. Pete 2 got in on the action, killing one Floater from the safety of the Skyranger, and then another after Zombie II set fire to everything.https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/X-Com/fire.pngAdmittedly, for the second kill he did force his head through the floor of a barn, so extra kudos. Sgt. Strike had a go at breaching and clearing.https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/X-Com/clear.pngAnd picked up a kill. Everyone went home and breached and cleared their pants. Easy 106 pointer, now got Sunflash and sir-roosio as sergeants too.
Pete
I like the fact that my second incarnation is taking pot-shots from the relative safety of the Skyranger. I can see his superiors now: Thorondor: "Pete, get down that ramp! That's an order!" Pete 2: "No no, I'm fine here thank you very much. *Peers cautiously through the plasma-proof cockpit windscreen* "That tactic didn't end so well for me in a previous life y'know." Sunflash
"Sarge, are you SURE that it's safe to charge up that field? What if there's someone covering it from that ba*" *KA-BOOM* "I can safely say, private, that the barn is not really an issue. MOVE IT!" XD A+ man! FullAuto
Right, got my base rearranged, got the second lab and workshop on the way, as well as the alien containment. Making laser rifles, and medikits for sale. Researching Personal Armour. Doing well financially, all the hires this month plus some facilities, still got more than 3 mill in the bank (thank the Alien Brain for mind probe-heavy crews). Sold the rifles and pistols, kept one of each alien tech and body, kept the alloys and elerium.
