Mantra2k
Hey guys, When I try to play any of the games in this engine (Silent Storm/Sentinels/Hammer & Sickle), all shadows constantly flash when they are turned on. Obviously I can play with the shadows turned off, but the game doesn't have the same feeling without all the graphics options enabled! Anyone know why this happens? Specs are as follows! Radeon HD5870Phenom II X4 9654GB DDR3 ramWindows 7 64-bit Thanks in advance!
Mantra2k
So years on, I decided to get this on GOG.com. And I am still having this issue on a completely different setup. The only thing that is the same now is that I am still using an ATI graphics card. Every other piece of hardware and software has been replaced. There is a very light flickering on textures that are lit up, but this only appears when on quality level high or above. Any ideas? It's definitely to do with the lighting. EDIT: It seems to be the setting setvar gfx_cl_blur in the s3config.cfg file that causes it. With it turned off, the flickering turns off but the shadows go completely mental. Does anyone know what this setting does exactly?
silencer_pl
Well there is no problem on NV side I've played recently GoG version and everything is working just fine. You might check on AMD forums about game problems, you might ask on GoG I don't think any of us could help you.
Mantra2k
Setting software vertex shading on solves the issue. Looks exactly the same but you do take a performance hit. I don't care much anyway \o/ Pete
