tijm6140
This is it. The remake of the best game ever made: TFTD. All new 1024x768 graphics and beautiful physics. The grenades look real when you throw them and the best part is: The source code is open. Everyone works on it. It was probably just one of my stupid ideas, but if anyone is interested, just reply. BladeFireLight
Are you looking to make this from scratch? of use the existing data formats and graphic files with a new engin?

iggy
I'm only familar with C++, which brings me to a question: What language would you use?
Sgt. Strike
Can I make a couple of suggestions to y'all? First, make it scalable to 1024X768. Second, try working with the old DOS4GW Basic and C++. Also, have your color scheme selectable, as well.
The Veteran
Well I'm designing the new ships for what Blade is doing. I could always donate the plans for them to this mod as well. Or I could make some more...
BladeFireLight
would this involve using some of the data files used in the game? or totaly new graphics and sound? -Blade FireLight
tijm6140
C++ sounds great, but i think we should start from scratch, because it would be a pain to use the bugged old version of tftd, like this we could solve everything at the same time
Chaos_Theory
Sounds Good, but is anyone really up to it ?

The Veteran
Munkey I forget if I've told you about Soldiers at War... It IS XCWW2 and it's a brilliant game. You should look it up on the net or something.
tijm6140
I know this was ages ago, but I have loads of free time now, and I would like to start this project in C++. However, I suck at graphics designing and I would need someone to do the graphics for me. Anyone into remaking TFTD?

NKF
Can you tint the battlescape with a light blue just like the game does for underwater missions? It's odd looking at the seabed's base colour. - NKF.

tijm6140
I'm only into TFTD not UFO.
serge
I'm only into TFTD not UFO.Hey, these two games use the same engine, so this is not an argument UFO2000 does support maps from TFTD now (but still uses wrong palette for them). If you like TFTD so much, you can help make better TFTD support in UFO2000. What do you think? Also you can start making strategy part of the game. There are lots of tasks to do, there is no need to start everything from scratch
tijm6140
I would love to join your project actually, but only around July 2004, this is my exam year. Hope I can help you then.
serge
That's a good news. We are always in need for new developers. And I don't think it will change in the near future So you (or anybody else) can join our project any time.
