Can't drop more equipment

Does anyone know how to drop more items once the 3x20 ground squares fill up? I picked up a big load of stuff in a colony assault, and I don't want my troops to be sitting ducks in the first round simply because they're overloaded. In EU you could use the stacking bug, but that doesn't work anymore.

As long as they are within the confines of the exit tiles when you dust off, they should be recovered, and you should have more than enough space on the ground, in the exit areas, for everything you can conceivably pick up.

Ah, lightbulb moment. Try this solution: Fill up a screen, go back to the tactical view, then have someone 'throw' something onto the pile. You should be able to access the next page. Fill it up, then repeat as necessary.

Thanks, but that's not the problem - When you're in the equipment screen before or between parts of a mission, there doesn't seem to be any way to fill up more than 3x20 squares of items, which means you can drop for example 10 sonic cannons, and afterwards you'll have to click "OK" and throw away the rest by using time units.

Down the bottom of the inventory display (directly over the "ground" area) is a button used to scroll through pages of what's on the ground (it's got an arrow on it, easy enough to spot).

When you push this button, even if there isn't another page to go to, all grounded items will be sorted according to the order in which they exist within the game's object table file (with some variation in that smaller items may take up earlier spaces where possible - took me a little while to mimic this behaviour within my battlescape editor thingy...).

Anyway, the idea is to fill up the space at the bottom of the screen with large items, preferably wide ones, then hit that "next page" button. Specifically, avoid small objects like clips (unless you have nothing else that'll fit, in which case, get more clips by unloading guns!), and try to use ones which are at least two tiles high. Hopefully, when re-sorted, they won't be aligned as efficiently (meaning they now take up another page, so clicking the "next page" button again will take you to that - hence granting you access to more space to drop things).

Obviously, this isn't a "fix", it won't work in all situations, and even for those in which it does there's some trial and error to go through. But it's currently the only option.
