Space Voyager
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7JLVlxz4S0 "We're being nice to the player..." my arse. XCOM is definitely far too RPG, much more like UFO:After series than the original X-COM. But yeah, I'm still mad that Silencer makes everything work and I suck. Thorondor
@SV: that just means you're supposed to tweak some of your own real world stats to disregard having to meet such overblown expectations as always getting it right the first time. What those more grammatically challenged call "GIT GUD!"? :: Meanwhile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF_7FIqImRY

Space Voyager
PC Gamer's Richard Cobbett writes about X-COM Enforcer. As the trial went on and on, I skipped to the sentencing vid and there are laughs to be had.
Space Voyager
Contrary to what one would expect from an ex-employee, there seem to be a reason for optimism. Just as a side-note, the roadmap is currently drawn to the end of 2022.
Thorondor
@SV: I don't know what the final take on Cloud Imperium Games will be as a developer, or if Star Citizen will ever be "done", but what I'll say is whenever there's an opportunity to milk something potentially indefinitely that something will definitely go on being milked. :: Meanwhile: VG 24/7's Robert Zak spoke with the developers behind Dusk, Amid Evil and Project Warlock about the 90s shooter wave, their upcoming games, and why the retro FPS renaissance may be coming to an end, as reported here. Space Voyager
@SV: I don't know what the final take on Frontier Developments will be as a developer, or if Star Citizen will ever be "done", but what I'll say is whenever there's an opportunity to milk something potentially indefinitely that something will definitely go on being milked. Cloud Imperium, right? FD did deliver and keeps delivering. But yes, this seems to be the case. I was happy to see some optimism though, as I helped fund the game and want the revenue. I can't understand people keep pouring money into a non-existing game, but I gave up trying to understand (all) people long ago.
Thorondor
@SV: what are you quoting? I never wrote that. *ahem* Really, though, as reasoning goes I believe it's mostly a case of the infamous Sunk Cost Fallacy (link).
