Sukayo
If i build a transmission resolver and leave the previous sonar i get a range of 2 in the base info screen, if i scrap the sonar it drops back to 1.Does multiple scanners increase the scanning range? Crazy Photon
Welcome to the XTC forums Sukayo Multiple scanners seem to increase the detection chances rather than increasing the scanning range... but once you build a transmission resolver the sonars become unnecesary as the transmission resolver has 100% detection chances and a greater detection range. NKF
Actually, it does have an effect. I've had numerous occasions where an enemy ship disappeared off radar because my detection range was too short, even with just one hyperwave decoder/ transmission resolver. Increasing the radar range helped a lot. A hyperwave decoder/transmission resolver can detect 100% but only within its detection radius, which is that of one large radar/sonar. Installing extra large radars/sonars will boost the detection radius. Oddly enough, they also get the benefit of the decoder/resolver. Not sure about the 100% detection though. - NKF
Crazy Photon
Mmm... interesting, didn't know that maybe it's better to keep the radar after installing the decoder
Gilesy
I seem to find that the more radar i have the more ships i dedect so im gessing that more is better,i dont think you should scrap the normal radar when you build the trans,
