So there's nothing that can be done about the blurry text?

I've been searching forums for hours to check this out. My laptop's highest resolution is 1280x800 and at that resolution, the game looks good. But it performs like crap. So I obviously have to lower it. But when that happens the text become unreadable.

 

Seems like this has been known since day one, but nothing has been done about it. I was wondering if anyone else has figured out something or a work around...something, anything.

I don't have Afterlight, but I had this happens to me in Aftermath and Aftershock when I was on my previous PC. In fact, it happened to me in a number of 3d graphic intensive games like Battlezone 2 and Neverwinter Nights. It might be a problem with the text rendering functions caused by some conflict with Direct X and the video card. Text looks fine in software rending, but is all messed up once you're in 3d accelerated mode.

 

Can't really offer a solution, but would like one myself the next time I am able run 3d heavy games.
