BadgerBadger
(excerpt from a discussion of, well, various games) if you think i'm a bit silly ( and you're right ) in connecting all this, well - consider this: x-com, esp 2 & 3, was very influenced by HP lovecraft - ( who basicaly said 'demons and hell' were the ether of 'warpspace': aka aliens and the WH folks never made ANY secret they were Lovecraft fans... the guys at Blizzard North - who basically told the same story thru Diablo to Warcraft to hellgate - (of the 'burning crusade' of chaos)( before they left blizzard due to "creative differences "over WoW)... never made any secret that THEY were fans of Warhammer... it's not stealing; it's all homage, all attempts to revel in... something creepy. so : If the myrmecols are the ultimate LoveCraftian Yog-Sothoth "warp demons" of elder demon badness...https://images.uulyrics.com/cover/s/sepultura/album-arise.jpg...does that mean the original myrmy, in (Aftershock's re-imagining of AfterMath events)...-when earth got "spored" ( - and what a great way to start a game that was - 28 days later with a nasty twist) 'she' was a giant tyrannid "genestealer" who basically sprayed our whole planet.... with her "SPERM" ??? NASTY!!! greetings, earth;you've been tyrannid-ed! PREPARE TO MUTATE.
FullAuto
Yuck. On a related note, I re-read Wyndham's The Kraken Wakes recently, and it got me playing TFTD once more. The aliens in TKW are a bit Lovecraftian, hardly anything is known about them, blobs of ooze, etc.
