Jh316
Every time I end the first turn of an island terror site, the game crashes. Is there anywhere else to find Calcinites?
InsaneLapin
I never ever found a Calcinite..
usmarox
Any aquatoid terror site should do.....I normally end up getting one from a port raid, IIRC.
Jh316
Alrighty, thanks. Also, got another problem...I researched a deep one corpse, have 41 Aqua Plastics in stock, and it said that aqua plastics is availble for research...When I go to the research menu, it isn't there. First time this has happened to me.
iggy
yeah, I've got 3 magnetic navigations, but can't research it.
iggy
you need to research a deep one corpse, then you can research aqua plastics.
Jh316
...As I said, if you would read the first line, I researched a deep one corpse.

The Veteran
Look in FAQs. This question has been asked many many times! It must be in there...
Jh316
Ah. Well, I've heard about a lot of research tree glitches, but never this one. May as well look. By the way...Um..Where are the FAQs?
The Veteran
Go to the XTC forums overview and look in the engineering section. Under support you should find frequently asked questions.
Jh316
I figured that, but there's a slight problem... there's no topics in it.
NKF
I've had similar problems before too. Sometimes it even happens in engineering. I manage to get the tech researched, but my engineers can't build the item since it's not listed. It's definitely a glitch.  Have you got a savegame prior to researching the deep-one corpse? Try going back there and research it again. Or maybe send it to one of us so we can have a look at it.  Can you remember everything you researched prior to the deep-one? If possible, in the same order you researched them? At the very least, the most recent research topics? If there's anything that'll prevent you from getting plastic aqua armour, I'd really like to know what it is.  Is your TFTD the original dos version? If it is, have you patched it with the v2 update? It helps.   - NKF
Jh316
Okay, I tried a save from right before I researched it, same result. The most recent topics I could think of was I partially researched a live deep one, but then switched to a corpse to get aqua plastics a bit sooner. I have the collector's edition. Also, can't send it to anyone, as I accidently saved over it.
Alan
I figured that, but there's a slight problem... there's no topics in it. thats because this is the new forum... check out the old forums... a shrine of ancient knowledge they are.
Tammy
Are they fixed today? TJ and I couldn't get there last time we tried. I'll go and check. *goes and checks* Nope, the link is dead still. Pete?
Jh316
Yeah, I tried to go there the first day I decided to visit the site again. The old forums were a storehouse of knowledge.
The Veteran
Apparently the old server shut down so it took the boards with it... Bummer but hey. JFish, wherever you are! You're good at this sort of thing, could you perhaps make some kind of research tree for TFTD and stick it in research? I know someone made us a great one before but the knowledge gained through XCom is lost forever...
Jh316
Heh, I can always just restart, like I did. It's not like I was far into it. I'm just curious as to how it happened, so I cna make sure it doesn't happen again.
iggy
i got a question. On a shipping route terror mission, do I have to kill all the aliens in the first part or do i just have to make it to the exit area?
Crazy Photon
IIRC there are no exit areas in shipping route missions... but if there are then it's not necessary to kill them all... but I would do it anyway, it's fun to kick some more alien **** ... usmarox
There are no exit areas on stage 1 of a shipping lane terror site, so yes, you'll have to kill them all to get into the bowels of the ship. There *is* an exit area on the second part, but you only use it if you want to bug out.
