Alpha Nox
Hi all, I've looked everywhere on the net on how to extract the .cat sounds files and couldn't find any complete information although the ufopaedia helped with the .raw file specifications. I was afraid I would have to dig in UFO2000 code to see how they did it. Here's how I did it(using X-Com TFTD Collector's Edition): (Using Sony Soundforge 9) 1. Go to %X-COM FOLDER%\SOUND2. Rename SAMPLES.cat to SAMPLES.raw3. Open with soundforge and it will ask the specifications of the sound file.4. For this version, use:- 11,025hz- 8bit, PCM- Format: signed- Mono- leave headers and trailers in default: 0 5. Play, enjoy and save as the format that suits you. =) In case, you are not feeling that adventurous, I will be uploading the sound format in mp3 to my Skydrive:https://cid-519432d5073a1e0a.skydrive.live.com/home.aspx Also, the music is in midi in the Collector's Edition and you can also get them at mirsoft.info.
