Masterfrog
So yeah, first post. Anyway, I did some searching and it turned up nothing. But I'll get right to the point. Some of the techs (of the few I have left to research) that are unavailable to me require Martian Soldier Interrogation, which I can't research, even if I already DID do a mission to capture a Martian. How come? I haven't noticed any differances in any martians I have seen, but could it be that some counts as soldiers and some don't? If not, what should I do to be able to interrogate my martian captive? Also, a few questions about my game. Is there any way to know if I'm missing out on any technology? For example I'm pretty sure I've never captured a reticulan, and the rebel reticulans are already dead while the expedition only control their fortress territory and nothing else (I already controlled all the zones around the territory when they landed, and immediatley allied with them, so they haven't been able to expand anywhere) There's one territory, controlled by beastmen with a gate on it, Elysium Mountain I think the name is, that I for some reason can't attack. Is there a reason for this or is it just a bug? I've destroyed almost all the gates that the beastmen use, but I've spared the last one I can see (except for the one mentioned above that I can't attack anyway), in fear that there could be a good reason to keep it alive, in case I need a functional gate for doing something in the future. Is this the case, or should I just destroy it? I notice there are lots of capturing missions when attacking beastmen, but the only ones I haven't already interrogated is Matriarch (except for Captain, who I think is uncapturable (they won't feint) and all of the pets (Roller, Worm, Spider and Boss, but I'm pretty sure I won't be capturing any of those alive)). Will I ever be capturing a Matriarch to interrogate? It's good to know, so that I can keep some capturing missions "alive" for when I need them. That's all the questions I can think of right now. Don't be afraid to tell me minor spoilers if the spoiler itself is the answer to one of my questions, I can take it. However, any ending details or such is spoilers I would really not like hear. I've yet to complete this game (I played it once but stopped half-way). If the answer to one of my questions is a major spoiler about the ending or such, just mention that that's the case and I'll be happy. Thanks in advance! Kret
As you've stated the game has two possible targets for martians. These are marked internally by the game and you don't actually get to see the difference. Oddly enough, there's no martian commander interrogation, so such capture is useless. The game will try to alternate targets, but it didn't seem to work properly and was somewhat random, the only mission where you could guarantee a martian soldier capture is the 1st one that spawns for that faction. All of this is fixed and corrected in the 1.6 patch. Is there any way to know if I'm missing out on any technology? For example I'm pretty sure I've never captured a reticulan, and the rebel reticulans are already dead while the expedition only control their fortress territory and nothing else (I already controlled all the zones around the territory when they landed, and immediatley allied with them, so they haven't been able to expand anywhere)The interrogations of either reticulan factions don't bring forth anything of value. The rebel commander does unlock a research topic about the psionic healing devices, but this doesn't unlock any item, structure or other research. Other than checking a tech tree made by some fans there's no easy way about checking for missing subjects There's one territory, controlled by beastmen with a gate on it, Elysium Mountain I think the name is, that I for some reason can't attack. You'll still get the matriarch interrogation if the mission is sucessful tho. This is also fixed in the 1.6 patch
Masterfrog
Ah, thanks alot for the quick reply. And for the quality of the reply, as well! And here I was thinking that 1.5 was the most recent patch. Seems like upgrading it will solve most of my issues! Or what of them that are actual issues, anyway. Again, thanks. It's really uplifting with people who care enough to make detailed replied.
Masterfrog
Two more questions, about the beastmen interrogation thing. If I have done all the interrogation research for beastmen, will there still be beastmen capture missions? I mean, so I know if it's essential to still do them or not. And secondly, I think I am missing some technology. Specifically, I can't produce mine disarming kits for my technicians, and I can't research anything related to it. (In fact, the only research I've left to do, that shows up in the list anyway, is Plasma weapons). Does anyone know what needs to be done specifically to get this tech? I'm not sure that the capture missions still appear once you have done all the capture missions. I think they might though. As for the technology thing, it's very easy to miss one or two pre-requisites and so miss out on some of the research options. This happened to me first time I played, I never got the reticulan capture mission to unlock the Psi stuff nor some of the specialized suits available at the end of the game, so it's quite possible you missed something in the game that would all you to produce the disarming kits. If you check the Altar official forums though there are several threads linking to complete research trees, so you could check there to see if you've missed anything. The last possibility is an in-game bug, which aren't unknown!

I mean, so I know if it's essential to still do them or not.In 1.5 and prior, capture missions still generate after capturing all possible targets for the BM and Martian factions, reticulan factions will give you only 1 chance for a soldier capture and then another for a commander no matter if you have managed to capture any or not. In 1.6 the game will continue to spawn capture missions for all factions until you've succesfully captured all possible targets for that faction, which at that moment will stop generating any new ones. I can't produce mine disarming kits for my techniciansIf you can produce mines and grenades then you should also be able to produce dismantling sets. Check the Devices tab, then the Technical subtab in the production screen.
