Azrael Strife
April 9, 2008 - According to Next-Gen.biz, Interplay confirmed plans for a post apocalyptic Fallout MMO. The company sold the intellectual property to Bethesda in April 2007 and is currently trying to come up with enough funds to continue the licensed MMO. The increased net revenue stemmed from Bethesda paying $5.75 million for Interplay's Fallout franchise. Interplay is not only intent on reinventing Fallout for the MMO space, but the company is also attempting to secure "at least" $30 million to revive old IPs such as Earthworm Jim, Dark Alliance, Descent, and MDK. To continue to fund the Fallout license Interplay is prepared to borrow from the bank, and sell various properties. The company is set on rejuvenating the Interplay name as the company has begun hiring game developers. Recently Interplay hired original Fallout artist Jason Anderson to be the company's new creative director and has recently teased a website redesign. However if these ambitious endeavors fail, Interplay might have to sell other IPs, file for bankrupcy, or sell the company itself. In addition Interplay admitted to investors that the Fallout MMO might never see the light of day. https://pc.ign.com/articles/865/865461p1.ht...mp;RSSid=865461
