Gimli
Metal egg ambush? More like furry ambush. And yes, that cover art is scary.
Azrael Strife
Hey, I liked the Super Mario Galaxy cover art! I remember Barbarian, I played it on the Amstrad, had tons of fun with it

Gimli
You'd be frightened of such a penis too, if you just caught him with your wife (in the background). I am unable to determine if she was raped or not.
NKF
Looks like they were going for a Luke Skywalker look for the Prince as well. There were a lot of series and movie posters and whatnot that appeared to imitate Starwars back then. Oh god I shouldn't have looked at that Fears cover. Going to have nightmares now. - NKF
daredevil
Barbarian. How I miss thee. Barbarian 2 was better obviously, but only because the graphics were ever so slightly better. I may have to dust off the ole C64 and see if it still runs just to play that game. And Double Dragon. And Paradroid. And... well, you get the idea. Or look for one of the remakes out there. Barbarian remake I have fond memories of loading it on the C64, however the game file was mis-spelled as BARBARNIN.
Pete
Not so fearsome mis-spelled eh?
daredevil
Oh the irony of not knowing how to spell "misspelled" in a post about misspelling.... Anyways, enjoy this gem.https://www.defunctgames.com/pic/coverfinalzone2duo.jpg Sorry for the wall of text, but I couldn't decide what to focus on. Do I go with the mullet on the right? Or the distinct lack of firepower apparent with the guy in the blue suit - at least he has his helmet on. Then there's the two in the middle, that out of their fashion sense, have decided to enter battle with their helmets sticking up in the air. Take note of "Tribute to Luke Skywalker in Purple's" dual barreled wrist cannon--perfectly aligned to hit nothing that he can aim at. Does the female even have a weapon? Finally, we have "Chrome Dome" at the left who appears to be rather enjoying himself. I'm not sure I want to delve into the skills of the 4 year old who drew this, as its artistic values are obvious. Unfortunately for our mismatched group of heroes, it appears from the explosion at the bottom right, and the ominous purple gas emanating from under "Purple Luke" (although that could be a hygiene issue), our gang has just suffered a direct hit. Could be why this is titled FinalZone.
NKF
I think it was quiet funny when my very first ever post to an X-Com forum back in the day was a slightly pedantic message informing someone that they'd incorrectly spelled Sectoid - only to spell it Sectiod. On reflection, I probably should have responded that I'd done it on purpose. Our lady friend has a gun - the grip is parallel to the barrel of the gun. Amazing! Is this game set in space? I don't think anyone apart from Batman should be allowed to breathe in space. - NKF
FullAuto
Our lady friend has a gun - the grip is parallel to the barrel of the gun. Amazing! I thought she was armed with a futuristic staple gun.
NKF
Well, there's the little black barrel pointing out what I suppose is the hurty-end, but a staple gun could certainly work. By the way, take a closer look at the chin. - NKF
Pete
Damn. She's got some bad stubble. That's what happens when you breathe too much vaccum whilst wielding a futuristic staple gun I guess
Gimli
It looked more like one of those name tag things from Dexter's Lab. Well, at least the title looks nice.
Strong Bob
Does the red guy on the right have a left arm? He's holding that rocket launcher in a very impractical manner... I like the term in the upper right. "CD Graphics Shooting Game". So uh... Is the target CD Graphics? They're putting up a hell of a fight, according to those explosions in the background. Tifi
Perhaps it was intended to be 'Seedy Graphics'?
Strong Bob
Regardless, that makes graphics your enemy. The unfortunate fact of that matter is you will be fighting the whole damn game. XD
FullAuto
https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/Raw_Danger.jpg Probably the best thing about this one is that's it's a half-arsed attempt to use a danger sign design, but it obviously wasn't enough. So they added two skull and crossbone jobbies. And a biohazard symbol. While making it look like they're running from a collapsing city built on a waterfall. He's busy crushing her hand, too, actively punishing her for slowing him down. https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/Disaster_Report.png Save the bobblehead from falling! Kizmiaz
First, a wonderful game, but the boxart defies description... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e0/Mule_box.jpg I love the expression in the eyes of the donkey. Is it trying to get poor Bob drunk or what? https://bp2.blogger.com/_pvepZdH8FMw/R8rL66hT4jI/AAAAAAAAAQw/Jw9VQwoDlI0/s320/Miner%202049er%20box%20scan.jpg Besides the title, one of the weirdest games I ever played, I think. Had I seen the boxart I wouldn't have bothered. https://www.vic64.se/images/Cartridges/attack.jpg This cover is actually quite good. I never played it but I'm totally fascinated by the title. https://www.coverbrowser.com/image/zx-spectrum-games/304-1.jpg

FullAuto
Ah, the Playstation. Probably the best market for shitty cover art since the days of the Commodore 64. https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/Rampage_Through_Time.jpg After seeing this, funnily enough that's exactly what I want to do. https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/Silent_Bomber_Coverart.png "Hello, you've reached me on my invisible phone." https://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h109/FullAuto_2006/Vigilante_8.jpg What could be more exciting than driving a bus...through a post-apocalyptic alternate history!"
