Rattler
Ya same here, only heard of Perfect Dark. Starting to wonder just how old the rest of the games are and what system their all on

EclipseDog
I'd (heard of, played, and really enjoyed) most of those games. Most of those would even have swung my vote their way if none of the others had been in the list. In the end though XCom won it naturally! (Although it's a good thing none of the combat flight sims were in that poll or even one of my all-time favorites might not have taken my vote... no offense meant but X-Com did lose something by being turn-based rather than skill based unlike games such as Aces Over Europe and GS2000 among others... then again I'd wager X-Com also gained more fans since even folks with poor reflexes could enjoy the game so I suppose it evens out in the end.) :dontgetit:

EclipseDog
Final results left X-Com in fourth behind lemmings! HTF can a game where you kill aliens possibly get less votes than a bunch of suicidal hamsters on PCP anyway?! I mean I can understand why Chrono Trigger might have won with its huge fan following, and I can even possibly concede losing to Perfect Dark since that has the action of James Bond while giving males a nice female char to ogle while giving girls a hero to picture themself as. But why the heck did X-Com lose to Lemmings?! Argh it just doesn't make any sense. I say that poll was rigged by the Union of the Socialists Squirrels Republic in a bid to demolish democracy or any other kind of free will anywhere in the world including on the net and enable the brothers and sisters of the squirrels to overthrow our monarchies and capitalist ventures... I can just see them all planning this whole scheme months in advance at their local hide out... the Chippendales. Yeah, that's the ticket. They probably even got their little toilet plunger weapons and pulled ballots out of the box! Yeah, Yeah, that's what those rascally varmints did! I tell ya, ya just can't trust a bucktoothed being in a fur coat... no matter how much they like your nuts and put em in their mouths. It was a sad day for the rest of the world when the old USSR head squirrel honchos aided their fellow rodents in other lands in their bid for supremacy... all of those moles popping up everywhere when and where you least expect them and digging up all the best dirt on our campaign to promote X-Com to the tops! *goes off-stage to drink away his woes at being bested by a bunch of weasels and dirty rats using unfair tactics and vows to fight again someday when there is room for life, liberty, and the pursuit to shoot aliens til death do their heads part their shoulders!* For we shall emerge from this threat of takeover by our enemies across the channel and let the honorable Monty Python teach all who opposes the kingdom that they are not men in our eyes or our nightmares but small defenseless mice once more! Yeah, that's the speech I'll give... if I can ever figure out how to lose the fischer that's been poking his horrible little whiskers into other's business and badgerring every poor soul it can find. BTW: Anyone have any idea whether it's illegal to transport that many diseased and stupid puns across the phone wire or am I safe so long as no cows get their hoofs on it and go mad..? tanjo
Forth , not a bad result , wasn't too much great competition tho. Throw in PIRATES! gold , and maybe even counterstrike , then we'd be boned.
