Neorapsta
Just something I noticed on the Laser Squad Nemesis website: Will LSN become like the X-Com games? The answer is yes, and more. We are currently developing an AI systemfor LSN which will be better and more sophisticated than the AI wedeveloped for the X-Com games. We are also developing a massivelymultiplayer online strategy game based on LSN - something which X-Comlacked. We are also planning to build a more ambitious single playerexeperience reminiscent of the first X-Com game (aka. UFO: EnemyUnknown) with a 'geoscape' world view, RPG elements and resourcemanagement. X-Com was just the beginning - LSN is the future. Although it won't be exactly the same as X-Com, atleast it will have the Gollop Brothers behind it
cyrus
Yeah, I also found it some time ago. Personally, I don't like very much this last sentence - it states, that they aren't going to continue in the direction of X-Com. Of course, they don't have rights, but they not even planning to acquire them. Not that this is a big tragedy, LSN is also an interesting experience. Besides, Geoscape view, resource management and RPG elements - like good ol' Genesis (though it wasn't the Gollops idea). So, I wish this one would be finished. Pumpkinhead
I personally won't be satisfied unless it is X-COM I think my chances of dying in a car crash are higher than another X-COM game ever being made though Alliance is still "on hold" however, so that will always be the hope... Niml
I thought they officially cancelled Alliance?
cyrus
PK, are you talking about official X-Com game? Then you may be quite right, but (hopefully) who knows? Bout LSN. It's not X-Com, though Laser Squad was the father of X-COM.How about Marsec or M4000 Auto Gun? This was from LS.
Pete
I'd consider Alliance gone forever. The team behind it got switched to other stuff by Infogrames and the studios where it was being produced have since been shut down. I think that's pretty terminal. They're just too bloody lazy to give anyone an official word. Hands up if you like Infogrames? Anyone? Didn't think so... and they can kiss my bottom before I change my view on their terrible customer relations.
Pumpkinhead
I'd consider Alliance gone forever.Well that's a shame then... I guess it's up to the fans then to keep the spirit of X-COM alive on this anniversary year...
