Soldiers in the vehicles

This might be a really n00b mistake from my side ... But i have played this game for 5 weeks ingame now... and thats just to long. There should be some way for me to use my vehicles to transport my troops around... But for some reason i dont get it to work... I thought it was only to highlight a vehicle and the soldiers that i want to go and send them to the correct location... but my troops allways only travel at foot or with taxi...

 

Could someone pls help me?

Hi, and welcome to the Strategycore forums. I haven't played Apocalypse for a long time, but as I recall, you have to select your units and drag them onto one of the vehicles (make sure the vehicle can transport them) and your agents will be in the vehicle. This can be done when the Alert screen appears, in which case you can immediately order your vehicle, now filled with agents, to attack the aliens there. But you can also go to the building where X-COM is located and drag your units onto the vehicle(s) as well. Then you can do with them as you please. You can just have them drive/fly throughout MegaPrimus, but you can also have send the vehicle to other buildings. Why do this? At some points you may want to raid hostile organizations (such as Cult of Sirius) which can give you lots of loot to keep and/or sell. Finally, there is one other important benefit. If you check the organizations section of the UFOPaedia, under each entry, you will notice a piece of text that says "Infiltration: xy%". If the percentage is not 0, you may search the buildings of the said organization for aliens. Note however that organizations will not be happy if you go to a building which doesn't have aliens, and your relations may suffer. So simply save before you try a building.

Yes loading people onto ships. A real point and drag affair. Don't forget that you do NOT need to unload the troops at the destination building. Just highlight the troops you want to enter the mission and choose what you want to do at the site (just click on the ship name to select all units on that ship). This is especially important later on when you go to the alien dimension.

 

As for infiltration, a much faster way of appraising infiltration levels is to go to the graphs and click on the top-10 infiltration chart. You'l get the ten most infiltration organisations in the city. Another time saver is to go to the cityscape, use the overhead map display, go to the organisations tab and select the infiltrated organisation's icon. This will mark all the buildings in the city that belong to the selected organisation with white selection boxes. Look at the buildings that are near the drop site to get a rough idea where to investigate if you find that infiltration continues rising.
