Azrael Strife
I was wondering if anyone here knew the difference between, say, the different bitTorrent clients out there, also what do you think is the fastest P2P software available, is it Emule for you? I've been using Shareaza 2.0 for some time now and was wondering if there were faster out there.disclaimer (just in case ): this is not a pro-piracy post, p2p software is legal. Bomb Bloke
Pretty much all torrent software uses your connection at the highest speed possible, so it's really more a case of which one suits your tastes. If the software doesn't run at full speed, then you need to check your settings. I use BitLord myself, but haven't really tried anything else except BitComet. BitLord is based on BitComet, however it doesn't give you access to the DHT network. To summarise DHT, it lets you torrent without using a tracker. Using it can mess up your ratio on private trackers (potentially), but it's essential when your ISP blocks whatever weird port number the tracker uses. Slaughter
I use the same one FullAuto use. It takes very little resources, and is surely the best torrent client I've used.
Azrael Strife
Thanks for the suggestions I'll try to see if that client is faster than Shareaza
FullAuto
BitTornado is good, if a bit basic. I know a few people who swear up and down that Azureus is faster than
Matri
Pfft. Anyone who says Azureus is fast has never used it. Download speed, yes, it's quite fast. Faster than BitTornado. But the amount of resources and processor cycles it eats is astronomical, due to it being dependant on the Java runtime.
