Praetoris
Hello Fellas, I recently updated my portfolio a bit and I thought you might be interested in seeing my work this time as well About the pics:All of these are concepts for a fantasy game that's currently in development. I don't have much info to give you about it, it's all very hush hush at the moment, but it's pretty classic as fantasygames go and I think the pics speak well enough for themselves.I usually spend about 10 minutes on each sketched character / object and the simple coloured versions take about half an hour to create. 'Hope you like it, -------- https://www.studio01.se/temp_koncepts/01_human.jpg https://www.studio01.se/temp_koncepts/02_undead.jpg https://www.studio01.se/temp_koncepts/03_blindmage.jpg https://www.studio01.se/temp_koncepts/04_dwarf.jpg https://www.studio01.se/temp_koncepts/05_evil.jpg https://www.studio01.se/temp_koncepts/06_scenes.jpg
Matri
Wow, these are yours? They're absolutely stunning... For picture 1, I get the impression of nomads. Or travelling traders. #2, looks like some undead soldiers. #4 are obviously dwarves #5 is a very intimidating Reaper design. I'm guessing it's a Reaper, right? Slaughter
I really like the last one! Castle looks most impressive, and the sort of smudged battle scenes are very stylish. That being said, the other stuff looks neat as well! I like the small picture in the upper right corner of the skeleton drawing, even if I wish it was larger. If I were to criticise anything, it must be the dwarves. The beards on them looks odd, makes me think it's the short version of Santa Claus

All done by hand in photoshop - no fancy brushed, filters or 'cheats'. 1: are some koncepts for the humans. I tried som variations for nomads, travellers and vikings just like you said. I've got tons of sketches for the humans, but for some reason I find those that are more down to earth more interesting. I could post more of the noblemen, knights and "the civilized" kind if you're interested? 2: General (I believe that's the word? -"global") koncepts for the undead characters. 3: YOU FORGOT THE THIRD I think I'v worked the most on this one, pretty tricky. 4: It is a bit obvious isn't it? 5: Jepp some sort of reaper, demonic and evil kind of character. Didn't really have anything specific in mind but It might just turn into a character or some kind of unit in the end. 6: Scenery and Envionments I really like the last one! Pete
The third one actually looks lie you've spent more time on it too. It somehow looks all the more "real" as a result if you know what I mean. Great stuff!

It somehow looks all the more "real" as a result if you know what I mean. Great stuff! Thanks. It probably looks more real for the simple reason that it's been taken a lot more forward than the others. The initial pics are often very loose and rough, the details come the more I work with them

Matri
Don't mind him, he's British #3's very well detailed, but kinda ambivalent to me... I can't quite place her. I like the castle design, but I have to nitpick: The perspective on the southern bridge seems somewhat off to me...

Pete
I can't believe the way this thread is going - I mean, I got up to a glorious sunny morning, made myself a cup of Earl Grey, pipe in one hand and slippers in the other... Actually, has anyone ever tasted Earl Grey tea? No wonder Captain Picard has no hair! I'm sure it's something like 30% bleach, 70% reconstituted bumble-bee urine Sorry, I wen a little off track there
Kernel
Woah... good work there. You should post them on gfxartist.com or one of the other graphics sites. #3's very well detailed, but kinda ambivalent to me... I can't quite place her. I like the castle design, but I have to nitpick: The perspective on the southern bridge seems somewhat off to me... I like #3 as well, but her arm look a little off somehow. It looks like her elbow has been twisted around or something... looks a little painful. The castle bridge looks ok to me... It looks like the bridge simply get's wider the farther away from the castle it gets. Creates a sort of bottleneck for any attackers to get stuck in. Pete
Ah, I see what people mean with th bridge now - whilst the perspective is good, it doesn't seem to be bridging enough of a gap to get that wide that quickly, unless as Kernel states, it's also wider at this end than the other

Take a look at those 3 figures, then compare them to the houses on the southwest and southeast banks. It seems like those 3 are either humans in a city scaled for gnomes, or those are really large statured humans.

Large Statues ...or wait, now i get it yes they might be a bit oversized, but they're just dots so I don't think it's that picky. I think most people will get the picture just out of looking at the other forms, a house, towers and a castle-gate are good for comparison.
