What is this mod about KoMik? Are you still working on the other ones?

This is now the main mod under work. I try to descript somehow this Suvi1953 mod soon for this forum and we are also making a webpage for it.

 

It happens in Finland and will be in Finnish at first (faster to hammer away) and translated when ready. I may say now that it will and try to be a humorous, humane, half-fictional Finnish secret/security police on year 1953 action-RPG campaign. We try to make different possibilitys and endings available. Plots won't include much politics or religious stuff... just a little images of Finland and finns.

 

Suvi = one old word for the summer in Finland

Suvi = if abbreviation then "Suomen virkavalta" (Finnish authorities)

Suvi = also a Finnish girl name

O'hey.

 

Summer is over (at least here in cold/dark/rainy Finland) and I have opened the editor again. Things have changed a bit: Couple of my friends wanted to takeover my Suvi1953mod and I gave it away. Let's see if they have time and interest to make it to some point. I just try to consult and inspire them.

 

I will now continue making my previous mod called Uppopudas (it's a fictional Finnish village name = can't be translated well). It's milieu (GlobalMap) is this village where all areas are connected together. So, it will be very unlinear campaign. Hero, Finnish corporal, will be sented to Uppopudas to investigate it's strange and foreboding happenings/situations (cutted communications, lost people, goverment's train is destroyed etc...).

 

Anyway, here is one brutal "part of the railway" -screenshot.

Well, there have been two playable intro/demo versions for Suvi1953. Those weren't very international releases because things what are still missing are: English translation, music, voices, lip syncs and some fine tuning. It includes 6-7 maps from very beginning of the campaign and is quite linear to play.

 

Like I said in previous post, couple friends of mine now writes some plots (agent- and policequests) in it. So, I'm not sure what will happen and how "bright" it's future is. I would like to see the current demo version translated, tuned and released for other players than just Finns. Maybe that day will come before next year.

 

Uppopudas (which happens right after Suvi1953) includes already 6 village areas. I planned to make demo out of them but I really don't know would that be good or bad thing. I mean, six maps doesn't show the real size and idea of that mod. Here is couple "mapshots" from the editor screen. Not very visual (new custom ground textures are still missing) but maybe someone can get a point of view how wide them all are (128/128).

I don't have deadlines for my mods (I thank dear Ukko for that) so can't say any shedules. I also have my basic "time wasters": family, friends, dayjob(s), hobbys and pastimes around but those are then another stories. :D

Hammer & Sickle mod is now having a break cuz it felt too work.

(too much ideas and so little time for a proper RPG-stuff I noted)

 

My new S3-mod have a name/title but I won't tell it yet.

Yeap, there is an easter egg.

This mod will follow the orginal's scenario structure:

Later, if I get to that point, I'll try to add some re-entertable areas for some RPG.

Orginal mercs are hirable so far... someday hopefully modded to some others.

Now my priority is having fun with the game world's consept, situations and mobs in it.

 

Plan is to release a intro-demo, included first three missions. It may give an orientation.

 

I'll try to send a dialog-screenshot next time...

Had no time to add dialogs yet but one ruined town have been under construction. Just some objects and details are still missing from the map. Last evening got time to test its mission little bit and snap a shooting-shot. This is bigger one than the others in previous posts. I think picture shows at least one of the SS-engine's nice aspects.

 

My squad had caused some heavy losses to the enemy in my own planned ambush. There's two new (KoMik) characters in the party. Other is NPC/PC and other PC. Mission is to escort the NPC - not a scenario critical objective but... well, quite important.
