Draemock Draconis
Hi. Sometimes when i'm researching alien corpses the game researches the wrong alien and crashes. So if im researching a Sectoid the game researches a Snakeman and then crashes. Does anyone one no what is wrong.
Strong Bob
How do you know it's researching a Snakeman? Does it ever complete research before crashing? Sounds like you might be clicking the wrong names on the research list, and the crashes are just a coincidence.
Draemock Draconis
I research sectoids as soon as i get them, when the research is finished it comes up with the description of a snakeman and the it crashes when i go to the earth screen. NKF
Perhaps there's a bit of corruption in your savegame, so have you tried restarting in a new campaign, and does the problem still persist? If it persists, then it probably wasn't the savegame that was corrupted, then perhaps one of the game's datafiles was. I'd recommend you uninstall the game and reinstall it. If it still continues... then something definitely is wrong. Note, you can win the game without researching any autopsies. Though you can try and fill in the gaps with the autopsy reports from alien 'medics' later on. Personally, I'd recommend leaving the corpses and most of the lesser aliens interrogations off till the very last. It saves research time and speeds up the acquisition of the more practical technologies. Thankfully, UFO is not as dependant on certain alien corpses as it is in its sequel. (Unless, of course, you're playing by XComUtil's alternate research rules that forces you to research aliens to speed up your research) - NKF

The Demi-Godly One
The disks might be corrupt, not your game. I've heard about disks of UFO that are corrupt.
Draemock Draconis
Is there anyway to check to see if the disks are corrupt?
The Demi-Godly One
Nit that I know of, just try re-installing and testing them out. If the same problem occurs both times there might be something wrong with the installation, and how good the installation is is usually dependant on you disks.
