Rexxx
Hi,does anybody know an editor which allows me to alter the research time. I can use xcomutil for that but - as far as I can see - only when using the research help by aliens option and modifying the xcomutilcfg-file. I'm just looking for an easier way.Any advice would be appreciated.R.
Fox
You could just edit your game so that you have just already researched it... if you're gonna cheat, might as well go all the way.
Rexxx
You got me wrong.I want to increase the research time for certain techs. Esspecially those which are the foundation for further research. I think the research time for allien alloys and elerium (an element not even found in the solar system) is way too short.
The Demi-Godly One
Research them and then use an editor to un-research them so it doubles the time.
Tammy
Or just put a very few scientists on the job. It'll have the same effect.
Jman4117
The research from aliens is probably the way to go. Research moves at a snail's pace if you don't capture several aliens. Tried it once thinking that it would make game go faster. Took 2 months to get alien alloys without capturing any aliens. Could also play a human tech only game. Just do the research so you can built an Avenger later in the game to go to Cydonia and blast the alien brain with a heavy cannon.
