Slaughter
Hmm, I like Norway's group. Maybe we can finally get past the group play...
Zombie
It's gonna be tough to beat Greece and Turkey though. Both have excellent squads. Groups A and B are going to insteresting. Personally, I think the best inter-group games should happen in E and F. - Zombie
Gimli
It seems there have been some changes. Now the first two teams of every group go through. And with Austria and Swizterland being the hosts, that's 16 teams. ... I just realised I wrote in the title that one of the hosts is Germany instead of Switzerland. Can someone in the staff please correct that?

Stun Grenade
All groups seem very even. I hope Ukraine qualifies.
Zombie
I hope so too, but the Ukraine would have to play against two of the biggest powerhouses in recent history: Italy and France. It'll be a long-shot at best. Besides the Ukraine, it would be nice to see some of the other countries qualify like Wales or Belarus. Both are underrated and could surprise us. - Zombie
Slaughter
With fear of offending anyone, I hope Greece doesn't qualify! Even Norway doesn't play THAT boring soccer. Netherlands and the Czech Republic...now that's entertaining soccer! I believe it was them who played a most excellent game last time?
Stun Grenade
The Czech's really need Nedved back and the Dutch really need Davids
Zombie
Mmmm... Netherlands and the Czech Republic. I hope those two teams meet again. The Netherlands really played some impressive soccer. With a superb defense and unparalleled passing, how could you not like that team? - Zombie
Accounting Troll
I can't see Wales progressing as I don't think they have the quality to compete with the Czech Republic and Germany, and Scotland's group is going to be a nightmare as well. My prediction is that there will be a good few punch-ups in the Czech Republic v Germany games. I remember when they played in Euro 96. The referee lost control of the game and the fouls REALLY mounted up. The funniest bit was when a German player was on the ground faking injury, and a Czech player walked up to him and kicked him in the face - right in front of the referee who didn't do anything This time, they managed to keep Serbia and Bosnia apart, but don't worry because Armenia and Azerbaijan are in the same group I really wish that UEFA and FIFA would try to put countries that hate each other in seperate qualifying groups to avoid the potential crowd trouble... The referee was so lax that I think he never even brought out the cards at all. Not one yellow. Once the players knew that, they took full advantage. By then, it was too late. I strongly believe in tough referees. At the first sign of trouble, he should take charge and lay down the law. Thats my rant on refs. Germany is not really that good anymore. They lost a lot of good players, and the current team is way to young. The only real "vets" they have is Ballack in Midfield and Klose in front. And don't even get me started with the goalies. - Zombie

Ballack absolutely rips Midfield and also Deisler and Frings, but they have a huge strikeforce up front - Asamoah, Podolski and Neuville! They may be young now but heck, 2008 is still 2years away . BTW, Zombie, will you be going to Germany for world cup?
