The Demi-Godly One
In my game out of 150 missions about 130 have been filled with mutons, I haven't seen any other types of aliens for months. Has anyone else had experiences like this?
Slythe
Hmm I can't say I have. Perhaps it's all random and eventually, play enough games, you'll get odd streaks like that.
The Demi-Godly One
It might be a base near me, I'm not sure, I 've just destroyed all of the alien bases (16) and they were all mutons.

Ice2056
ah! those guys who get up two turns after you stunned them and then shoot you in the back. Haven't seen them in months
JellyfishGreen
They make good lean steaks but they're difficult to tenderize. Thinly sliced muton-and-tomato sandwiches, though, are rumoured to be delicious.
justchris
yeah i heard that and also mutton haggis is supposed to be pretty good wouldnt try tho. But back on topic, thats never happened to me, the ony thing was that like 15 missions were all only snakemen and chrysallid, but 130...
The Demi-Godly One
I actually only seen sectoids once. :hmmm: (In my current game)
Rattler
Is this 130 missions world wide? I've had in a few where sectiods and floaters only went to Europe and North America. With Snakemen only in Africa and South America.
The Demi-Godly One
It's all over the world. :hmmm:
NKF
Ah, don't worry about it. I once had an almost similar experience, but with a different species. I think it was the snakemen. Pity I was absolutely terrified of the chryssalids at the time... Then when a different species did show up, it was the ethereals. And they just kept appearing after that. I was even more terrified of the sectopods at that time, so I only shot down most of the ships, but never recovered them. Ethereal bases were popping up like mushrooms all over the globe. What a real mess my old campaigns were, and to think I was already quite familiar with TFTD when I started playing UFO... If you want to keep seeing floaters or snakemen a lot later into the game, just let them build a base for that regular supply ship. You'll get sick of them after a while. In TFTD I think I had an entire streak of 'mixed' crew missions. That was quite nice, actually. Lets you get gill men and calcinites well into the game if you missed out on the HTH weapons. Also being mixed, you get to fight all the species at the same time. - NKF
The Demi-Godly One
I'm wondering, can you get a profit on shooting down UFO's that come from a certain base if you let the base exist?(SInce an exsisting base makes you lose points)
NKF
Well, the only UFOs that get generated around an alien base are the supply ships on supply runs, and they always dock at the base. Take out a supply ship and you'll more than make up for all the points generated by the base. Landing on the supply ship is far more profitable, but you could shoot it down if your troop carrier cant get to it before it takes off. - NKF
Jman4117
Do the supply ships eventually stop coming? I have a base in south america really close to an alien base and I have not seen a ship there in over a month.
NKF
From my experience, no. In most of my recent campaigns I'd let the floaters or snakemen build a base near my primary base right from the start, and the supply ships just kept coming. Though sometimes it did get quiet for a while, but they eventually showed up again. Mind you, can also raid the base from time to time if you want. - NKF
Jman4117
Just the job for that Interceptor with xcom util. Edit:Just tried to do the raid. Took out every alien but the commander in two turns, 7 with a blaster that I sent after two sectiods who were in one of those alien botanical rooms. I found no reactors so I quickly sarted scavenging weapons. When I was almost finished the commander stepped out with a blaster launcher and my tank blasted him. To bad I don't have psionics or I would have been able to keep the last alien under my control until I was through, leave, then come back 3 hours later and do it all over again.
