CHEAT MOD

I've just uploaded and waiting for confirmation of my cheatmod, for all players who just want to bastardize their game to complete utter noobish-easy (or have to just to survive, like me ;) )

 

Oh and hello to Strategycore :( long time lurker, first time modder, first time poster here as well.

 

Thread will be updated and I'll post as well on the official AS forum of my mod once the file's confirmed :(

What all can your mod do? I've used VFStool to do several savegame editor things, such as healing my troops, getting more resources and ammo, and shortening training times all to make sure my men can show up to the fight.

Hi

I've downloaded your mod. Do you have to unzip to any special folder? In the main folder of the game didn't work.

Please help.

oh my bad my bad, please rename the cheat.vfs to <insertword>mod.vfs, seems the game doesnt use it if it doesnt have the word "mod" in it. should be in the same directory where your ufo.exe is, right beside the other vfs files :(

 

Oh and this cheatmod favors restarted games btw, which I recommend. I havent tested this cheatmod with existing normal games with success (weird resource effects, sometimes going negative, guess the game cant take such a huge resource multiplier all of a sudden)

 

The healing rate and other stuff for your soldiers I've yet to get to, but once after the first mission, that would be moot anyway, your soldiers would turn from raw recruits to seasoned veterans.

 

OH and one last thing, remember that I've increased the amount of enemies you'd face, this is intentional so that you'd earn more exp and so have uber soldiers very very early on, so bring more ammo.

 

Changes are listed in the changelog ;) please read it if you have any questions.

 

Normal US soldiers are usually carrying an extra 6 clips of ammo, and that's usually more than enough for the soon-to-be uber soldiers you'd get.

 

I'm currently testing possibilities for cheat armor as well, but I've found cultists and any other npc that uses the same armor out there to benefit the same from it, so its likely you're not getting newbie armor anytime soon, same for weapons.

 

I will update the mod from time to time, maybe have something by new years for aspirant cheaters :( but dont hold your breath.

I'm happy to let you use my mod, modify it to suit your tastes even, just remember who made it in the first place, and if you ever plan to use any part of the mod in any release to the public, common courtesy to add me in the credits :(

 

Oh and the best reward for me is you finally can get to the last mission in the game and finally finish it. And love every second of it :( Have Fun, and dont forget to try other mods (located here and on UFO: AS main forums) made by even greater modders than i ;)

I had that prob too at the beginning. But a combination of Reticulan laser rifles, pistols and Desert eagles soon sees off the early mutants. It's only really a problem for the first 4-5 missions - after that your guys are all at least lvl 16, kitted out with med armour and M4/X8/Sniper rifles and with Very Good/Excellent skills in their chosen weapons (i.e they CAN'T miss).

 

Oh, and about 1700 health each.

 

There ain't much that can touch them.
