Wargot Missions & Crash to Desktop

I have noticed and others pointed this out in several threads... when you start the Wargot Missions things get worse as far as crashes. I am on the third or fourth province being assaulted by the Wargot scum. I can finished the mission with out much problem because Commandos RULE with katanas.

My problem is I finish all the Wargot off yet the mission requires I continue on to the next level below ground. I do this and then I get the Mission Successful message and choose No (not to continue on) and the game crashes to desktop every single time.

I have a few ideas to try to possibly get around this bugged Mission but I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue and how they bypassed it, if possible.

I know that I can just let the Wargot capture the province forcing me to take a hit on my Diplomacy but I would rather go in guns a blazing and katanas swinging... kill all the slow moving scum. And be the hero.

Its an annoying fact of life PJ that the situation gets worse as the Wargots come on the scene.I have had crash free sessions for a couple of days now,but my system HAS encountered some nasty CTD before though. My crash problems seemed to be based around missile explosions. As soon as the round landed the game would freeze and CTD.

I havent actually encountered YOUR particular problem though.Just try and hang in there mate and wait for this patch...its all we can do :phew:

My work around (after trying ever variable I could think of) was to accept two other missions before attempting that bugged one.

I was able to not only play it again and pass it but I actually spawned in the elevator or green zone. So I just continued on to the next portion of the mission.. next level. And the mission ended with a Mission Successful after moving my troops into a defensive position. So I won and never even encountered the Wargots on either level of the map. Strange but I moved on quickly none the less.

I am now waiting for the Cult to attack my base so that I can let them win it and trigger the research needed. :phew:

forget about the wargots...

the games i played hanged even before they appear ...

especially the missions after the 1st appearance of The Cult ... :D

What are your system specs? How high do you have the graphics detail turned up? Not saying the game is not unstable but it should run fairly well until you get to certain points in missions when the crashes are inevitable.

I must say this game has crashed more than any other game I have stuck with this long... yet I continue to play on. Like a crackhead looking for his next fix. :phew:

Well my specs are AMD sempron 1.75G, 512MB, ABIT NF7 Mobo and Radeon 9600 128MB RAM. There shouldnt be any problem with graphics performance, heck i even played those high-res games with ease...

I tried all graphics setting for UFO:AS, and i just can't avoid those bloody crashes.... and new i discovered(or found :) ) this bug/glitch/whateveryoucallit, where in the squad screen, i can just 'lose' one of them while dragging them to Squad A/B/C/D/E and yet they still appear as 'ghosts' when i select another squad member... and there is where i started to crash... this happened (again) right after those Cultists appeared... :phew:

*come to think of it, i pressed almost 25 resets just because of this crash @.@ :D *
