ShadowBlade
Can somebody tell me where can I find music (in Midi format, if possible) from the games? I love the Interceptor one!
Ion Mage
There in the sounds directory; and for me, they are midi format. Yes, you can run them without running the game. There names are things like gmgeo, gmintercept, gmbattle, etc. They work for me at least.
ShadowBlade
I can't find them in ANY directory! Can you send 'em to me by e-mail, please? It's gdf86@hotmail.com. Thanks.
NKF
Only the UFO and TFTD that came with the collectors edition has the separate midi files (the June 2000 PCGamer disc with UFO is from the Collectors edition as well). Try XCommand ( https://dynamic.gamespy.com/~xcom/ ). I got the TFTD midi files from there. I could also have acquired the UFO midi files -- but as I've got the collectors edition of UFO, it seemed pointless. As for interceptor -- weren't the music files stored as short clips on various .wav files? - NKF
JellyfishGreen
The link worked for me just now. The actual file is stored on Gamespy Fileplanet servers. On my emulated SB setup (patched UFO 1.2, I think) I can hear sounds but not music. So this will be the first time I've heard the music other than the intro movie! NKF
Depending on how good your sound card plays midi files, the midi files really don't do justice to the original synthesiser music. Don't know why, it just doesn't. Even if played on the same computer. (blame that on the differing midi instrument tables ) This is probably just a wild guess JFG, but have you checked the volume setting for the music in your dos game? Try hitting the + and - keys on the keypad while in the Geoscape or during tactical combat. - NKF
