Preda
How do they work? I've got my first infra-vision cyborg operational. How do I switch to the infra-vision. Do you have to do anything, or do they just see enemies as !-s behind walls like those boring psionics?
Pete
Haven't worked it out myself either. I know I can now see enemies all the way across the battlefield and sometimes through walls and they have a funny IR sybol above them though.
Xzarr
Mmm eh I'm not sure what you mean by use but if you mean see only what IR sees then the buttons next to the map button They work passively so to speak so you dont have to click use Probably not making much sense ^^
Preda
The latest trailer shows infra-view, so it MUST be in the game. This kinda stuff:https://img419.imageshack.us/img419/326/ufo103jo.th.jpgThis pic is from the beta version, but it's the only one I have, beside the new trailer. How do I activate it? ricardo440
click the button to the left of the list of events in a tactical game. The button reads NORMALa drop down appears and you can select PSIONICIRLOWLIGHTGIMIC views. They are all a bit pointless really, all the do is mess with the colours so you cna't see anything at all. greedo
Reticle implants, drone infra things, thermal scopes, psionics, helmet/armor add-ons, each make an option avaible. If you have psionic with you on a mission, next to the Map button theres one "LoS" and one saying "Normal" you have to click on normal, and choose which you want, but it only shows which is avaible for at least one of your squad members. Pete
Haven't tried it myself, but you'll almost certainly have to select the right soldier before clicking on anything to make it work.
Preda
I'll try.

Preda
what implants does the cyborg have?
ricardo440
Good ones that boost DEX and AGILITY, pointless ones that boost STR, EYE ones which boost observation or grant IR. But all the top tier stuff is pants.Grants Ambidexterity! how useless is that as your cyborg is invariably going to be carrying one big gun. Oh, and another body upgrade for better armour
Preda
I was talking to greedo. Greedo, will you answer? The list of your cyborg's implants. Also, do you run in safe mode?
Pete
Hmm... my Cyborgs had level 1-2 IR implants and I got no groovy viewing options
Preda
I tried all playing modes (safe, hi-qual and normal) and I still can't see them.I can't activate LoS mode either.Bloody help me!
Darkfyre
Works on mine, I've got body implants on most all my cybers, though only one infra eye implant currently. One thing that is odd on my version of AS though, it seems to be unequiping the cyborgs when I swap squads, now humans I could see, cause their gear isn't part of them, but the cyborg implants? Something's screwy there, though hopefully next week's patch'll fix it.

If it's not supported, Aftershock disables advanced viewing modes because it would kill the computer if you'd try.

I think it's still enough to see the infra-red effects. My drivers may be outdated though. What graphics cards do you guys have?(Those on which the infra-vision works, I mean)
Darkfyre
ATI Radeon X500 here, with either the latest drivers or the ones just before them
Preda
Is it possible that the patch will allow vision modes for older graphics cards?
Preda
Yes, I know I bumped, but I want to give you an update on the problem. I improved my drivers, and now I can use allviewmodes, BUT I have a problem. EVERYTHING'S HOT!!!! And I bloody mean every godamn tree, square of ground and building is red, yellow or green in infra-vision. It shouldn't be like this. Some parts should be cold, like in the picture greedo posted. Is it the settings? Advice, please.

Maybe INFRA-RED only works best in the night where everything is cooler and hot bodies stand-out. That would be maybe why you see everything red/yellow. Maybe its in day time? I am asking/assuming here....
Accounting Troll
That would make a lot of sense. In real life, infrared scanners are designed to be used during the night time.
Preda
both day and night missions behave the same. Troll, do you have viewmodes working?
