milkman2k52
when your soldiers are in psi training for the month, does taking them out to a tactical mission have any negative effect on their progress?
BladeFireLight
only if they die as long as they are alive at the end of the month they get the full benifits of the training. -Blade FireLight
Hobbes
Quite on the contrary. There's two ways to increase the psi skill: by the labs and by having the soldier to perform psionic attacks with the psi-amp during missions. The only way it will have a negative effect is if the soldier gets killed on the mission.

milkman2k52
Thanks guys. As I am in the first month of psi training, I dont think there is much to be gained in the field for my soon-to-be psi guys.
Cazbol
Note that psi skill improves fast when its low but will improve ever more slowly as the psi skill stat increases. Once a soldier gets a psi skill over 50 you can expect a month of training in a lab to yield only 1-5 extra points. Heavy use of psi in the field will then be your primary means of advancing psi skill.
Fox
This actually leads to a question of my own: Will you only get a psi plus with successful attacks? Because in the first month I usually just have my psi-newbies mind blast with panic attacks (easier to succeed at), because it seems like aimlessly trying to mind control heavy psi-defense aliens is a waste, giving you no experience. What's your guys' take on it?
