Gungadin
I'm a HUGE fan of the Imperialism games, mainly for the industrialization factor. Are there any other good, preferably turn-based, games revolving around the industrialization period? I've played Victoria by the way. I found it hard to handle and tedious. Gungadin
Not Civilization, for the love of God! The civs have always handled the industrial era like crap. I always found they got boring once you left the middle ages.
Accounting Troll
The best one I know of is Colonization, a 1994 civilization spinoff. It covers the European colonization of the New World, and your objective is to carve out a colonial empire and win a war of independence against your mother country. Although it ends just before the modern inustrial era really got hold, you have to deal with developing your own industries to make money and produce the weapons you will need to equip your troops. There are four cash crops (furs, tobacco, cotton and sugar) that can be produced in certain terrain types around your colonies. They are then either sold for a profit or processed in your colonies (there is a seperate factory type for each commodity) for a larger profit. You can increase production (and hence profit) by improving the land, upgrading production facilities, or by training your colonists with specialist skills. ANd some skills are only available from the Native American tribes, so don't upset them all at once! Production of buildings, fortifications, ships and muskets (needed to turn colonists into soldiers) requires the development of wood and metal working industries. Also, commodity prices vary during the game. If the European market becomes flooded with rum then prices will fall, but if hardly anybody is exporting cigars then prices will rise. Gungadin
Yeah, I got that one. Colonization for Win is excellent, good call for an industrialization game. You can get it off the underdogs these days. For anyone interested in a historical replay of the 19th century, you can play Victoria from Paradox Entertainment. You'll get to pick any country, major or minor, in the period, and deal with such issues as the birth of nationalism, the liberal revolution, suppress growing marxist sentiment in your poor classes and participate in the colonial wars while at the same time industrializing your country. It's sorta complicated and clunky, but a good game if you have patience for that kind of thing.
Bomb Bloke
Turn based? Well, that excludes Transport Tycoon, but I still say it's worth checking out.
Azrael Strife
Industrialization... Master of Orion II? (I do not recommend MOO3). Not sure if that's what you wanted, but MOO2 is very much fun, despite its age (I'm looking forward to FreeOrion to be released...some day )

Xzarr
Moo3 was just different Machiavelli The Prince is the closest thing I can think of to colonization. :/ They don't make them like the used to
