Azrael Strife
I assume fight also means stand up to something? as in I don't think I'll be fighting my schoolmates, but stand up to the nervousness of the first day instead?
Ivory
exactally its often the situation as much as the people that can be the "thing" we need to stadn up to of run away from :
Blehm 98
The reason why you get "Butterflies" when you are nervous is because your brain senses danger(unfamiliar environment) and it is preparing your legs and arms for emergency use. The Butterflies specifically are a direct result of that, when you body stops giving your stomach as much blood (lower oxygen) and you feel the butterflies from the affect of your stomach not getting as much blood. I used to "Butterflies" before soccer practice, simply because i needed to get adrenaline and my legs warmed up for the beginning jogs. So butterflies are not to do with nervousness, but are a side affect of routing blood away from your stomach

Accounting Troll
You lucky thing, all I got to do in my work experirence was to count paper clips. I kept telling them I was qualified to count beans instead, but it didn't do any good
Stun Grenade
Hahahahah!!! Where the heck did you do work experience?Oh, and on my first day, I was asked to make a coffee for this air conditioner guy. I ran out of milk and had to buy it. In the mean time the coffee got cold. I returned, _should've_ started fresh but instead he ended up with cold coffee...
Accounting Troll
The first time it was at a local bank, and the second time was at a firm of solicitors. It was only for a week or two in both cases. If your work experience is only going to be for a couple of weeks, the chances are that you are going to get the non-brainer jobs like making the coffee - they aren't going to waste their time training up somebody who is going to be gone in a few days. It really needs to go on for several months or a year for you to get any useful experience.
Ivory
interesting theory troll...unfortunatly your experiences have seemed to lead you to that conclusion....i guess ive been lucky then, my workexperience was fab! i think its as much up to you as an individual to push for it tho. i guess its all dependant on the job. plus i guess local employers might get titched off sem trainning kids who are only there cos they couldnt think of anything else...*shrug* well nerves are back, had my first formal meeting last week and i felt really sick about it...mainly cos itwas my fault it was called (long story) but it seemed to go ok......tho i hopefully wont be doign it again soon. there something abotu calling a meeting when your still 'the new girl' ain t there, that just dont sit well with alot of people...or with me and the nerves :o) ....i wonder how long you can be calssed as 'the new girl'? Accounting Troll
If you think I'm cynical about work experience, wait till you see my reply in the chat up lines thread Remember that when you are the new girl, nobody is going to be surprised if you make any mistakes. Especially since you were chucked in the deep end. A sensible boss will take the view that you will learn from any mistakes you make.
