Slaughter
The Project Xenocide team just released a new progress release. The new version is 638, and it contains several features. The globe view is in place, you can view your base, access the X-net (UFOPedia) and so on. But for those of you that downloaded the last progress release, not much has changed on the outside. It's the programming that is done, and most of it can't be seen from the limited demo. But with the programming done I think it's safe to say that we can expect many more features in the next release. Read more and find download links in this topic. Lurker
Can you play a tactical mission yet, or is it still just menus and screens and buttons like it was five years ago?
Azrael Strife
The Project hasn't been around for five years, I am not sure what are you referring to. As for the battlescape part of the game, the planning has been done and we are assembling a team to start the programming side. For now the only thing that non-programmers can see is the Planetview, Basescape and X-Net. And "menus and screens and buttons" is a lot of hard work for a small number of programmers who do it completely in their spare time, although it is much more than that, the thing is that a lot of the progress is not yet visible as it's a lot of "internal" programming.
