thecyke
Sometimes when I'm feeling low or suicidal at the state of the crappy world we live in I think back to happier times, like when I was playing the original X-Com and i wish i could play it again. Then, i remember that technically i could but that it would probably be a betch to get going. Or would it? I have the game. But i'd likely need some patches, would I? And how would i slow the game down on my modern pc? Are there any good mods that would be worth adding? And was there a difficulty bug on this or was it TFTD? Seriously, how big a deal is it to get the game running these days?
FullAuto
There is a difficulty bug, resets the difficulty to the easiest level after the first tactical mission. You can rectify this with x-comutil, I think, plus it's an excellent all-round editor type thing. Check Scott Jones's site for more info.As for slowing your comp, I've heard people mention CPUKill and DosBox, but I have no idea, my POS plays it ok so I don't need them. Stun Grenade
Depending on your Operating System, you use something different. If you have XP, use dosbox. If you have Win98, use CPUKill. You do have the original X-COM don't you? Not CE?
Zombie
This is more of a support issue, so I'm moving it.
