Slaughter
Prey Alone:This is a short film that you can download for free. I just watched it, and it is very cool! First time I've seen a car chased by fighters . Seriously though, this is a high quality short film that you can download for free. It's a large download, but worth it in my opinion. If you have broadband that is!Download (77 or 206 MB)Interview Serenity:I don't know if anyone watched the Firefly sci-fi series? It aired only 13 episodes, but I liked it. Was a strange but very interesting sci-fi series. Anyway, they are now making a movie based on the series called Serenity. You can find the trailer here. Star Wars series:Looks like Episode III isn't the last we'll see from the Star Wars universe. George Lucas have revealed several new projects for TV in the time to come. Read more about it at Cinescape. Do you think we should do occasional posts like this in the news? All of this spotted at Evil Avatar
Strong Bob
Prey Alone: The videos seem to be missing from their server. Either that, or maybe too many people are accessing them and my browser is giving me shit for it. Serenity: I never watched Firefly. I heard it was made by the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (As it is confirmed on this trailor.) and I found that show to be too "teenage" esque for my taste... After watching this trailor, I somewhat regret my decision. Although, the plot it hints at heavily reminds me of The Fifth Element. (The woman they highlight seems to have some significance and she's a martial arts master. Sound familiar?) Star Wars Series: No... Just, please. The midi-chlorians ruined it enough. A TV series is SO pushing it over the edge, into a garbage truck, driving it to New Jersey and burning it alive, kicking and screaming. I can't believe what kind of person Lucas has become... And I only recently managed to erase the existance of the animated cartoon from my mind. Movies are just not made the way they used to be.
DoomMunky
Star Wars? Never. The only possible way I will go to the 3rd film is if a trusted friend tells me it's good, or is worth seeing, but since most of my trusted friends will stay away on pain of death, I don't think that'll happen. Firefly: I was initially opposed to it, as I hate most things that involve fan-boyish or -girlish behavior (like Joss Whedon and "Buffy"), but I was actually pleasantly surprised. The main actor is funny and charming, and the relationships between all the characters are what drive the show, not some crap-ass plot twists that are excuses to show crappy TV effects. (you can certainly tell it's TV though, as some of the sets are really small and the effects in general show a lack of vision and scope that no self-respecting feature film would be caught dead with: budgetary stuff)
Slaughter
Prey Alone: The load on the server have probably been too heavy, and it went down. The original news post can be found here. Hopefully they'll come up with a torrent that works soon (the one already listed in one of the posts doesn't). Serenity: I did not know it was the same guy that made Fluffy the Poodle Slayer. I HATE Buffy, Angel and all that other bull! But this series is good never the less. Star Wars: If a series was made from the Star Wars universe along the lines of Babylon 5 I would be all for it. But seeing the quality of recent Star Wars movies I don't think that will ever happen.
Slaughter
Prey Alone: Okay, the download is up again. I downloaded it again since my first one didn't complete. This is really brilliant! PocketMovies.net is another great site. I can't recommend Tripping the Rift strongly enough! I've seen it before, and it is simply brilliant! Did I mention Fallout. Quite interesting as well, if not as good as the others I've listed.
Strong Bob
Tripping the Rift was made into a Sci-FI channel TV Series about last year. I don't think it was recieved well, though. Because I haven't heard of it in such a long time. (The TV series has better models and animation than this short video, but it comes at the expense of some of the harder humor... But ah, the loss isn't all that much.)
