Snikers
Brett Wright has been on three missions and has iced three aliens. He is a Captain. Sata Okabe has been on three missions and has not killed *one* alien. She is Colonel, highest in XCOM. How is this possible? Was Okabe a Colonel in her previous position? Is it because Wright is black? Did Okabe bribeher way to the top? How is this possible?!
Loonie
Answer using UFO and TFTD logic: She must have stunned an alien or two at the beginning mission, whilst the others didn't. That made her a Sergeant and from there one she was always top dog (or cat, whatever,...) Answer using editor logic (purely for fun): You gave them those ranks with the editor. Seriously I can't find an explanation except the first one. Or maybe she wounded an alien at the first mission and then they aborted, or I dunno,.. Snikers
Okay, truth of the matter is she blew up an unseen enemy with a grenade in mission one. But nothin' since then! Would it be ethical to use an editor to make this reasonable?
Loonie
Sure it would! I use it all the time to promote those soldiers that I believe deserved a certain rank.
JellyfishGreen
Ethical schmethical. What you do in the privacy of your own hard drive is your business. This game would be disqualified from Olympic competition though. Also, if you make your more experienced soldier the Colonel, but then continue to put them in the front lines, you're setting yourself up for a heavier Morale loss when the bugs eat them.
