Pardus is a free Massive Multiplayer Online Browser Game (MMOBG) playing in a future where traders, pirates and other pilots of various races and factions strive to gain wealth and fame in space.

 

Located in a technologically well evolved but war-torn universe you play an adventurer who travels around in his spaceship and tries to make money and obtain power - as do many others. There are many ways to accomplish this: Mining raw materials, manufacturing goods in your factories and trading them, carrying out assignments, bounty hunting, plundering buildings, etc. The focus, however, lies on trade, though it is possible to get rich just by doing jobs or vicious piracy.

 

Game Features:

- Dynamic economic system with adapting prices

- Persistent universe containing various planet types and harvestable resources

- Factions, alliances, territory annexations and private starbases

- Gaining military rank through missions for advanced faction ships

- Piracy, Bounty-hunting, Ambushes, Cloaking, Drug and Slave Trading, Smuggling Contraband - increase or decrease your reputation the way you like it!

- Ingame forums, chats, and a private messaging system

- Sophisticated Production Tree with dozens of possible buildings and commodities

- Lots of ship equipment and weapon classes for various uses and combat against NPCs and other players

That's a browser for us that don't like to surf with the hacker-target MSIE, or prefer a smooth and fast thing.

Hmm, I doesn't say anything about Opera, it works on Mozilla and Firefox IIRC, you can check the technical FAQ, but I think it doesn't mention Opera https://www.pardus.at/index.php?section=faq_technical

The game is awesome but takes some time getting used to, it has a lot of stuff, but remember, the the manual is your best friend, never forget to check it out and at least give it a glance at first, I at first mistook a space monster for a building, the creature killed me pretty fast Any questions you may ask in the General Chat

Is it text/jpeg based or does it have flash and other such "stuff"?

It's browser based, all in PHP code, no need to install anything.
