DoomMunky
I played for a while, but the actual gameplay was incredibly lame to me. Kill monsters, get stuff, sell it, get new gear (eventually), kill bigger monsters. Oh, and on a PvP server you can kill other people. With no consequences and no rewards...why would I do that? Nahh, not my cup of tea. (which is English Breakfast for those doing their X-mas shopping early...)
lilyve
Hey Are you hesitating? Are you thinking about? How step up the status of the game ? Oh ! Please don't hesitate again! Gungadin
World of Warcraft and all other "Pay to play online" games should be boycotted into oblivion. It is the ultimate display of greedy dickheadery to first charge people a mint to buy the CD itself and then charge them an additional mint EVERY MONTH to keep on playing. And this is Blizzard doing it, the company that revolutionized online gaming with its free Battlenet service. Screw them. I'm not buying anything Blizzard ever again (the last thing I bought being Diablo 2) and I heartily recommend that everybody pirate World of Warcraft to their hearts content. Not sure why anyone would want to do that though, the game is pants anyway. I had hoped that the Warcraft Adventures game would have been completed. Some very nice cartoony graphics in that one and what looked like an interesting plot. But Blizzard went the way of Lucas-bloody-Arts and decided to continue games that were more guaranteed to bring in the moolah.
Crazy Gringo
As a former user/abuser of online games from MUDS/MMO's in the early days of the Internet to the present day Final Fantasy XI and Matrix Online all I can say is.... It takes over your lives....(That's my personal experience. Then again I am a bigtime gamer) All your available spare time is (mind the caps) *STOLEN* from you when you sit in front of your screen wanting to make to that next level....It's exciting the first couple of weeks then it get normal and in my book normal is boring. I do know that getting from A to B takes a lot of time in reality (User off public transport to and from work 2 hours on the weekdays). And getting cool stuff cost a lot in reality. But it's just too damn boring 'harvesting' is the term to be able to afford that cool looking flaming pitchfork of boredom. If I want adventure it should be the good *old* kind as in the Black Isle/Bioware games (Fallout series. Baldurs Gate series. Icewind Dale series, KOTOR series and Neverwinter Nights) big and epic and and NOT the "I will die of old age if I shall *complete* this game" kinda game if there is such thing as completing a MOORPG.... And if I want socializing I head into town and end up heading home in the morning in a blind stupor (that good old homing pidgeon instinct has not failed me yet). Peace out my fellow gamers and may all Pay for Play MMORPGs suddenly be comsumed my the fiery bits of the Internet.

JellyfishGreen
I've recognized myself getting addicted to all sorts of video games, I'm hesitant to risk my time and money on a game that can be deadly addictive.
Matri
Sorry if this turns out to be an angry rant, but I just HAVE to say it... #1. It's China. #2. Since there was absolutely no information on how she died other than by playing the game, I'm going to have to agree with the comments posted on that page, i.e. she either starved herself to death or was terminal and wanted to wring what joy she could get. If it's the former, blaming games for your lack of common sense and personal responsibility puts you on par with Mr Thompson. Yes, I'm talking to you parents! It's YOUR job to raise your kids! Not the government's, not your neighbour's, not TV, not your dog's, not your church, not the daycare. YOURS! If it's the latter, well... IS NOTHING SACRED TO YOU?!? (Comment directed at the people attempting to twist and politicize the story.) #3. It's China! I can't stress this enough!

Bomb Bloke
Even assuming the monitor had a really bad refresh rate, I doubt even three days solid gaming would make you go blind. Sure, it'd give you a headache, but it wouldn't kill you. You can survive without food for much longer then three days. Water, on the other hand? Well, I've heard of people doing it. With such low levels of movement as required by gaming, it's quite possible. But I can't see someone not moving from their seat for three full days. I mean, while waiting for a group to form or something, you'd jump up, fill a cup with water, and return to your seat. It takes, what, 30 seconds? I mean, all but the most dedicated gamer would fall asleep after that amount of time. Staying concious for three days would be where the main toll comes in.
