Slaughter
@FA: Free Jimmy contains quite a bit of swearing in the original cut! That bit was top, the criminal foursome were probably the most amusing group, I thought. Although the suicide bomber (grenadier?) at the end was also good. A very unusual animated feature, well worth a view. Did you see Fl
Azrael Strife
Oh your God, it's another Rambo movie!, won't the world ever be ridden from Stallone's endless supply of bad sequels to bad movies? New Star Trek movie? yay! , Matt Damon as Capt. Kirk? doesn't feel right...
Strong Bob
Matt Damon is not going to be Captain Kirk. Nobody I know really has any idea how that rumor got started, but Mr Damon himself personally called up JJ Abrahms to confirm whether or not he was being considered, and Abrahms gave him a polite "No". Evidently some fan's speculation to his role got more popular than anticipated. Chris Pine will be playing Captain Kirk. Also, this is not an official addition to the Star Trek series. Preliminary data on the script indicates that this Star Trek is going to deviate completely from the original timeline, and be starting over anew with a brand new lore and universe. This means everything we know about Star Trek is to be discarded when watching this new film. (This has yet to be absolutely confirmed... But the Trailer alone is enough confirmation for me. No Enterprise in any Trek show or movie was ever built planetside.) Not a bad idea, but with the new lineup of actors... I will have a hard time not considering it a satire. Simon Pegg as Scotty will be hard to imagine... And John Cho as Sulu is just ridiculous. (One of the stars of Harold and Kumar as our beloved asian helm officer? He's not even Japanese.) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796366/ That site should clear some things up on the new Trek movie. As for Rambo, my brother saw it the other day. And his opinion is that the story is absolutely garbage, but the action is so ridiculously over-the-top that it is enjoyable in an amusing manner. (Though he warns there are a lot of women and children being brutally murdered.) I probably won't see it because I was never much of an action movie fan. Matri
Simon Pegg? The guy from Hot Fuzz? Scotty? An athletic Brit playing a chubby Scot. Yyyyeahhh... Still not seeing it.
Strong Bob
He won't be playing a "Chubby Scott". As I've mentioned, they're working with completely new canon. In this version, Scotty might as well be just as British as Simon is. As far as I'm concerned, this is a Star Trek "remake". With that kind of mindset, I'll be able to enjoy it some. Azrael Strife
I don't think it's a "remake", but we'll see I'll surely enjoy it whatever it turns out to be.
Azrael Strife
Has anyone seen "The Bucket List"? Went to see it some days ago, great movie! highly recommended, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman's acting is simply gold.
FullAuto
I'll have to catch that one Az, cheers. The Prestige was very good. Apart from Bales atrocious Cock-er-nee accent.
Azrael Strife
Aye, the Prestige was very much entertaining, but unfortunately I watched "The Illusionist" (Edward Norton) a short while before that one and I couldn't help but keep comparing it, despite the completely different stories. FullAuto
Aye, I've seen that one as well, which did you prefer, just out of curiosity?
Azrael Strife
I found "The Illusionist" to be more entertaining Both stories were decent enough to make good movies, and I enjoy watching Hugh Jackman and Edward Norton, but I think the beauty of the story of the Illusionist to me lies in its simplicity, it's a love story and doesn't get more complicated than that, the Prestige seemed unnecessarily complicated at some points, both are good ones, however. Also, Edward Norton's acting made The Illusionist an even better movie I'm still not 100% convinced about Christian Bale... Space Voyager
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903624/WHO is Guillermo del Toro?! What is with Peter Jackson?! And what the hell is THE HOBBIT 2?!https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1170358/ If they are trying to divide the story into two movies they are making a BIG mistake... Gimli
Well, it's called There and back again. I suppose the second one is the "back again" part.
Strong Bob
Keep in mind that this is a user database. If there is even so much as a rumor of a "Hobbit 2" then it will be posted up. Although I'm wondering why you would feel it to be a "big mistake" to divide the movie. All you need is a single cliffhanger. Also, we've known for an extremely long time Peter Jackson would not be doing The Hobbit. His focus right now is working on a rendition of Halo, not the movie, and Jackson has even been reported to have said that he is more intrigued by video games than movies. This may mean we won't be seeing many more "Peter Jackson Films" in the future, beyond current production. Perhaps a western version of Hideo Kojima. FullAuto
Cloverfield - quite enjoyed it, good monster movie. The Mist - Worst ending ever, quite frankly. Deus ex machina writ large in an attempt to be tragic.
Azrael Strife
God, a game about Halo, I've played few FPS as lame and boring as Halo, I honestly cannot understand what all the big hype about that thing is about. Is anyone going to see Iron Man? I like him as a superhero, and will most definitely watch the DVD as I really enjoy superhero movies, but all the CGI really turn me off and I'm worried that they will (as usual) make the the whole movie about "cool" aerial CGI battles and not focus on storyline (*cough* transformers *cough*)
FullAuto
Iron Man is not one of the comic book characters I know much about, but I've heard he is, in fact, invincible. Surely this is not the case, as any conflict he takes part in he will surely win? Not that's it's likely he'll lose even if he wasn't invincible, especially not in a big budget film about him.
