FullAuto
Yup, the Spaniards have done some cracking horror films of late. REC 2 was weaker than REC, no argument, but I still enjoyed it quite a lot. The RECmake, Quarantine, was virtually identical, and was still awful.

The RECmake, Quarantine, was virtually identical, and was still awful.I have two movies of the same type in the backlog. Fourth Kind and The Last Broadcast, in the same vein of Blair Witch-esque movies. Also, have you watched Paranormal Activity? I promise some involuntary peeing upon watching. FullAuto
I didn't think much of the Fourth Kind, but I remember the Last Broadcast as being good, and Paranormal Activity is very good. Black Dynamite. Basically a one-joke film that wears thin towards the end, but is still very funny for most of the way.
Matri
Haven't watched Kick-Ass yet. Worried about the local censors butchering it, so might as well wait for the DVD.
FullAuto
Kick-Ass is a damn good film. Time will tell if it suffers the same sequelitis that has plagued other comic books trying to be films.
Azrael Strife
Kick Ass was fun, nothing otherwordly, and the jerking off scene was completely unnecesary, I would seriously love to know what the people directing/writing such movies are thinking at that moment. "Hmmm.... something is missing here""I know! how about he jerks off?""Brilliant!" On another note, not something I look forwards to, but just some random news.Michael Bay to ruin TMNT next Edit: Watching Evangelion Rebuild 2.0 right now and I wonder, what is it about Japanese that they love so much about showing *very* underage girls (not even 15) in very light underwear or naked with funny stuff like steam or something covering the nipples, etc? Azrael Strife
Dude, they're Japanese.Indeed; I do wonder why is it that they do not seem to be so sexually cohibited as we western cultures are, probably because the catholics never had that much power there?I envy their openness about it, bar their fondness of very little girls... Edit: BTW, Robin Hood is RidleyScottgasmic, very enjoyable.
FullAuto
Prince of Persia. I actually felt brain cells die in the face of such strong expectation that I was a retard. Crap film, the game had a better story and better acting.

Crap film, the game had a better story and better acting. That doesn't sound promising. Were you comparing it to the old platformer, the new cell-shaded PoP, or the Sands trilogy games? FullAuto
Alfred Molina does a good comic turn in it. The girl is quite attractive. That's it.
Matri
Which is a little wierd, actually. From the trailers, it's got the story of the first Sands, the girl from the second, and the barbed whip-sword & costume from the third.
FullAuto
The Road. A decent adaptation, not that faithful to the book, but then a faithful adaptation would never be get made. Fairly good post-apocalypse film.

Space Voyager
It actually looks better than the usual fighting movie. The scene is... fairly well played.
Thorondor
I don't know what's your experience/opinion regarding the 3D movies being released to theatres, but they seem like a sorry bunch for the most part and, by and large, downright kiddie stuff. I was just looking over future 3D releases, though, and noticed this one might at least be fun... :: A sink or swim affair I guess.
Space Voyager
Alien Prequel will be 3D. And that is Ridley Scott.

Thorondor
@SV: Yowzer! Didn't know that. Probably still quite a wait before release, though... :: @FA: a whole other meaning to laughing you ass off, eh?
FullAuto
When The Wind Blows. Good use of 3D model sets combined with animation. A retired couple in 1980s Britain. Nuclear war. It's not a happy pairing, as Jim and Hilda struggle on, their view of war dominated by the conflict they grew up in, the relatively more humane WWII. The use of real government pamphlets given to people makes plain just how much chance civilians stood. Some good laughs, but overall quite upsetting. FullAuto
Solomon Kane. I enjoyed the whole film, despite parts of it being terrible. It's not so much the knowingly bad parts, but the parts that are merely bog-standard drag the film down. Which is a shame. Still worth a watch though, got some great (if short lived) action scenes in it, a genuinely conflicted protagonist, and some ace West Country accents. Matri
Hmm, I haven't watched it yet, but something about Last Airbender brings up two words. Uh.Oh.
