ApOcaLyPSe_1985
Hi all, I was searching ebay for X-COM related items and stumbled upon a X-COM: Apocalypse game, but this one is special: It has 2 CD's! I've never seen this before in my entire x-com life! I own two X-COM: Apocalypse games and they all contain only one disc. Does anyone know more about this mystery product? Perhaps the second cd contains bonus content? Strong Bob
It looks like the version is German. Maybe they don't make big enough CDs in German?
Aralez
In the text it only says "Two Game-CDs". That's strange, i never saw or heard of such a version...
Kret
The "Bonus CD" idea seems the most logical if it's the actual game. Trying to contact the seller for information of the CD's might provide a clue to what they actually contain.
Slaughter
It may also be a "home-made" version
Kret
Woah, in that case the guy went through a lot of detail to even get the tiny print that circles the border of the CD's
Pete
I've got a few copies here. There's nothing on the extra CD apart from a Transport Tycoon Deluxe game demo, a Worms 2 game demo and some other information for other vrious Microprose games. Nothing to get excited about unfortunately Jeez! 1 euro as the highest bid! It'd cost more than that to post it!!
Bomb Bloke
While I admit that image isn't top quality, I can't see any difference between those two CDs.
Pete
One says Disc 1 and the other says Disc 2. I don;t think there's anything else. You insert Disc 1 and it brings up a menu to either install the game (on Disc 2) or play some of the other game demos or go through a catalogue of Microprose titles. Woo. Booyeah. Amazing. .....Or you could just stick in Disc 2 first and install the game and get right to it The only reason I would suggest anyone buy this if they've already got Apocalypse is if that person were trying to collect every incarnation of the packaging it's ever been released in. That being said, anyone who wants to buy any of my three copies of the exact one from the picture above can feel free to ask me nicely and get their wallet's out I was just keeping them for a rainy day when we get round to doing a competition though
cyrus
It's that old competition in honor of the game's 10th anniversary or did I miss something?
cyrus
BTW, I'd like to find a way to get Apoc, but, sadly, I don't see any now. (the only one I know of is to get on e-Bay or whatever, but I don't have a credit card)
Slaughter
Without a credit card I guess your only option is to search in used games stores, but I wouldn't be too optimistic.
cyrus
Oh, I am not. The only chance (around zero) is that someone not far from me would own a copy.
Aralez
Yeah, it's sad, you will find almost no DOS-games anymore these days... I would give something to find Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate again... The worst: I had it once (some years ago) and lent it away, only to never see it again....
Bomb Bloke
Yes. I'm sure you'd stop playing DOW right away if you got that game. (Or would you? )
Pruimpje
lol, I HAVE that 2 disc german edition too! Disc one includes the gamebook (in english ) and Transport Tycoon I believe, Disc two is the german version of the game...

Stun Grenade
so the game is like wasted on those cds?
FullAuto
The first CD is a total waste of space, really. There's nothing much on there except for some really old demos.
