I liked Dawn of War, but it is summer, the computer overheats, and I have tons of other things to do. Maybe next fall.

I have been wanting to get back into C&C Generals Zero Hour. There's just something about that game that grabs me an pulls me in.

Also, getting the original X-Com to play on XP has been a draw. Some people consider X-Com to be the best game that they have ever played.

Anyway, it's good to hear that they are doing more with Dawn of War. I wish that they would have stuck the Tyranids or something graphically complex into the new expansion, instead of the route that they chose. Still, it would be nice to have another DoW campaign. They were planning on including another campaign in the expansion, correct?

Hi Lurker! They are doing two campaigns. One "good" where u play the Imperial Guard and Eldar and one "Evil" where u play as Chaos and Orks.

The imperial guard army does look pretty neat tho' , but as u said maybe a little too similar to the existing Space Marines.

Yet to see it on Amazon to pre-order.... ;)

@Lurker: You can find a torrent for downloading the movie or Winter Assault here. Looks neat! ;) Regarding the campaign, there will be one "evil" and one "good" that lets you play several races from what I understood.

@shagpuss: I watched the movie. Looks really good! It was very much focused on graphics however, so I wish it had shown more of other stuff. Regardless, very stylish, and I think the expansion will be better than the original game.

What this game needs is another expansion, I think I remember the NWN team announcing Hordes of the Underdark when Shadows of Undrentide hadn't even been released. I think every company should watch and learn from Bioware.

Dawn of War just doesn't compare with the geekdom of the actual game.

Many a happy night spent arguing with that Land Raider really is Hull Down behind that wood, or is a bloodthirster is suceptible to poison (FB).

Get up from your computers and buy some paint, you can also enjoy the stench of BO which hangs around ALL games workshop stores like a pall.

Problem with the miniature game is that it takes so bloody long to paint, set up and so on. Personally I had a Space Marine army, but never found enough time, and thus sold it. It's fun though, I agree with that, but takes too much time.

And skill of course!

I did have an Epic WH40K ork army, as far as I can remember it consisted of....

1 x Great Gargant

1 x MekBoyz Gargant

1 x Slasher Gargant

1 x 3 Stompa's

1 x 5 BoarBoyz

1 x Warboss retinue

1 x 5 BattleWagons

Assorted Boyz

This was way back, when Squats were still a viable army..... ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

*Wipes the dust off his dusty shoulders*

Ive been away so long i could almost be declared legally dead, Hi folks I hope everyone is ok.

squats lol Ive got a few of them in my loft still, with the thudd gun and a trike also a couple of medic units, I loved my warhammer 40k, epic was ok but I ended up using my titans as dreadnaughts lol as I was (and still am a little bit) a wh40K fanatic. Glad to hear there is an expansion forthcoming for dawn of war. Ive been thinking about loading it up again for a few weeks now and after finishing off temple of elemental evil i think i will. Time flies away from you I cant believe it's been so long since i was here last, ive got a little daughter now born a few weeks ago so my gameplaying time is severly depleted but im going to have to practice my dawn of war skills again as they are probably nonexistant now (not that they were far away from that in the first place) and then perhaps have a few games with people here if you are up for it. By the way whats that new patch like.

Heya Dezerin, congratulations on your new arrival! ;)

From what I remember you were always the last man standing in our games (few that they were)

Things have gone a bit quite on the DOW fromt here as we've drifted away from the game. Aralez is missing in action and General Kret is around occassionaly....

Although I downloaded the patch I haven't tried it out yet, i'm currently into Swat 4 and eagerly awaiting GTA:San Andreas.....

There is some goods news on the DOW mod front tho' which I will post later

Welcome back :)

Im sorry to hear about Aralez but I suppose these things happen. Im on holiday for nine days from the 18th of June so if anyone fancies a game let me know and you can feel all superior as I stumble around the game trying to remember all my hot keys and cursing

I shan't play DoW again until the devs pull their fingers out and give us armies we actually want (for 'we' read 'I') I want Harlequins! NOW! I want to control a Solitaire and a Death jester *weeps softly* and I want a proper Grey Knights army. I wouldn't mind the Tau eithe,r just so I can enjoy killing them. Little vagina-headed freaks. *shakes fist*

The army ive been waiting for since day one is the tyranids, Gimme a carnifex and a lictor and perhaps a hive tyrant or two, the orks have room for improvement as well, for example where did the shock attack gun go, and the squig catapult.

Lol do you remember the old Orks with the teleport gun that would teleport a rabid Grot inside the armour/clothing of the enemy?

Great days...

Shame the humourless bastards bitched and moaned that the Orks weren't 'serious' enough...
