If the green smilies aren't liked, I can always put the messy yellow ones back... Or just draw a new set. *shrugs*

But anyway, the Tammy smily is still accesible. Kinda. Can't put it up propally just at the minute though.

And I suppose you could work out where the pie smily is too, if you think hard enough... ;)

Not as much fun as installing XP and linux as a du(a/e)l boot system and then scrabbling around to find a linux driver for your TV card... but i digress.

Good luck with it, and have fun with the talking robot on the phone asking for your activation key. (unless you are fortunate enough to get the online one to work).

*throws matri a ball of yarn*

Indeed the on-line one did work ok. ;)

I was surprised at that too although I wasn't worried too much, I had already made other "arrangements" in case it didn't. :)

Now all I got to do is re-install the 1001 different apps that I had installed.

ah, the app install, thats always fun ;)

and last time i installed XP the system clock messed up... it thought the 30days grace had expired, which meant i couldn't log in to fix the net access to authenticate it and ended up having to punch in a god-knows how many digit number on a phone keypad in groups of about 6 with a painfully slow recording inbetween.

What is this 'activation key' that everyone keeps talking about? Never bumped into it myself, but I hear the computer will start asking for it if you take out a network card or something. ;)

(A friend of mine installed XP and it decided he had a NIC that wasn't actually inside the computer. Manually removing the device from XP resulted in the OS thinking it was on a different computer, thus it asked for a key).

But, I've never run into the thing, myself.
