Mods not working? :(

Hey guys, my first post btw, just beat the game and now im lookin to mod it.

 

Sooooooooooooooo i figure a good way to start learning how to mod is by making a mod that allows me to save during combat playing in impossible or hard mode.

 

Yes i know kilobaks has already made this mod, but might as well try it myself just to learn

 

Anyhow, I opened the Difficulty Resource tab, changed the CanSave value in impossible and hard mode to Always, hit the Update Game Data switch, Hit the build switch, Turned on SS, Loaded mod, started campaign..... and could not save in Impossible mode. Have tried this LOTS of times.

 

Could someone give me a clue?

The one thing you don't mention, and that has been overlooked by a numbe rof people is that they created a NEW dtabse before craeting their mod.

 

If you didn't, your mod will never work and you need to 'Repair' your Silent Storm install.

 

This is because the build operatio nlooks at the difference between your changes and the original database, if you modified the original database there is no difference and hence your mod will be empty.
