Tarot
I have seen once... On axis campaign, 5 allied soldiers and one officer appeared out of thin air onto the gate of a big house... My char was hiding near the gate, so I saw them appear, right in front of a stationary machinegun... Mike was like a happy puppy, when he opened fire on full auto at them The mission was somewhere in southern england, third one on that campaign. NightRaven
Hey Tarot... I just started the Axis campaign after using the Allies for quite a while, and nearly finishing. Maybe I am just used to leveled up characters, but to me the Axis seem to stink, LOL... I guess I need to give them some experience... Any tips for using them? Tarot
In the axis campaign the enemies are for some reason a few levels higher, than in the allied campaign... This is somewhat compensated at the beginning of the campaigns, if you use only your own sides weaponry, as the axis weapons are a lot better in the first few missions (atleast their smg:s are). And anyway mg42 is the best machinegun, so the axis get better weaponry. I've tested the first random encounter on both sides, and the axis ones are clearly harder (more enemies, and more intelligent enemies). The axis commandos just seem to stand around when my allied scout slashes them with his knife, the allied soldiers kill my axis commandos with one or two bursts... This is based solely on my experiences, not any real info.
kermix
The Allied mission in Britain regarding the rescue of Dr. Compton includes a small squad of enemy reinforcements, as well as a potential squad of allied reinforcements (which you actually get to see arriving, but that's a minor spoiler so I'll spare you the details). If you immediately send someone to the radio in the shed to call for support, the enemy squad will show up at about the same time as your allied reinforcements do, and if you leave one of your squad members outside on the road, you'll see them mysteriously materialize on your turn. Hmm, the "first" random encounter would imply that they're not random... That could simply be a run of bad luck. I've had some surprisingly nasty randoms. Though you might have a point about the weapons, and I admit I wouldn't know much about the Axis campaigns yet. I've been using a lot of Axis weaponry in the Allied campaign simply because I've accumulated so much of it that it's really easy to replenish the supply of it.
