plz help me with moding

i started looking at rbl mod 3.3 a long time ago.....but never mad any changes my self untill the new tools came out....i have finally made the modfications i wanted....but it worked....once i found some problems and some stuff that i had to edit to fix it...i did but only the old settings work...it doesnt matter if i delited the mod...or evan took away alpine...nothing it stayed with my old modefications...

well...i just figured it out...after shouting at my screen for sevral mints.....

 

one of the things i did...wich you should do...is make the mp5 animation type assualt......it makes it look more real...and looks much better....i'm going to try all the smks..and maybe try make new ones if i figure out LUA files

fulby how did u change the skin for the warp airstrike thing....cause i dont know how to llok at lua ...can u tell me how to do it for standalone mods...plz

 

and anyone else who had luck....

 

aralez..u had luck with those guns u made...and the cyborg faces...how do u edit themm........i found the files and all...do i just edit and place into a mod folder...or is there more to it

If you mean the skin of the WTD (the weapon the unit fires), then it's referenced in the model file for the weapon.

 

In the weapon entry in lstofweapon.txt is a field like:

PATH_3D "tactical/models/weapons/eq-wtd_3d.txt"

This determines the model file the weapon will use.

 

In the model file ("eq-wtd_3d.txt" in the plugins\wtd directory) are the lines:

TEXTURE 0
FILE_NAME "tactical/textures/weapons/eq-wtd.tga"
U_WRAP V_WRAP
ALPHA_MODE 0
END_OF_TEXTURE

The FILE_NAME field determines which image file the model will use for its skin.

 

If you just want to replace the skin on the MP5 for instance, find its model file, which will tell you which image file it uses. Edit the image file to change the skin in-game.

 

You have to put edited files into a VFS archive, and they have to be in the same directory within the VFS as the original files were for the game to use them.

i see.....thanks....i'm tring to get it to work....well..not tonight...i'll tell you tomoro

 

do i just use paint to edit it?....and can u plz tell me how to add stuff to a model...it doesnt work for me anymore....

 

and for changing the skin for the players..its alot of work...but i think i'll creat a hall new player(a ghost...that will be almost perfact) how can i make shore that i only get one of here/him after research maybe? other wise there is no point...

 

Sigest if you read this...your skill level thing has one problem with it.....i think...you cant get more then super human....i have that as a speed and i have nothing more to upgrade..i have down all traings...or is it because i'm using the first version....unpached..

 

You know the funy thing every thing i do seems to work fine with the unpached veriosn and i'm having no problems....no gliches...well except those Big deploable weapons but i dont use them......and the biomass no longer eats up my bases...if i capture them inside it......if i have the tec for it
